I tend to play Job. Seems my money last a little longer giving the variance are lower are the game obviously. But super times pay is a close second. Want to try wheel poker, but its always busy. There is only ONE at my local casino. Plus on the wizard's website he never says whether or not the game is a go and play or a stay away kind of video poker game. Giving there is only one at the casino im thinking its either a really good game, or they figure the wanting to play it isnt there so why buy more.

Wheel poker can be a good play at certain paytables. Most of the time, however, it stinks. Do you still play at Soaring Eagle?

Yes, i still play at soaring eagle. But i dont go there all to often. But i have been meaning to go and try wheel poker. But i dont know because it doesnt have jacks or better as an option to play. That 50 hand VP seems intriguing but its one of those games where you need a white rabbits foot, a penny you found on the ground and no black cats in the area to win. Basically you better hit something soon or your bankroll will be heading south fast. Standish on the other hand has Pick em poker and i will have to look at the pay table again.....but i 100% sure that a royal pays 10000, SF 1199, 4K 600 FH 90, Nines or better 10, and thne i forgot the rest a flush pays out the max pay to im sure. Basically im thinking/hoping when i go again im going to check ou the pay table because i think it is over 100%. But the 3K, or Straight is probably reduced unfortuntly to bring the percentage below 100%

What I did back when I went to casinos (gas + butchered pay tables is why I don't go anymore) is I went around to every bank of 5 or 25 cent machines and wrote down their pay tables, and then went home and input them into WinPoker. JOB came up with the best %, so I played that. Turns out it was perfect too for ROR purposes. Wonder if they comp you more for playing a game like DB, since it's more volatile. Also wonder if they can see your wins/losses, which makes more sense.

Jacks or better. Only because it's the simplest game to figure out what to hold when you have nothing.
And I prefer to play it on a 50 or 100 hand 5¢ machine.

My favorite is pick em. The strategy is easy and the pay tables can be generous at 99.95%.
Second favorite is deuces wild, followed by DDB.

Yes. By far my favorite game, and almost available nowhere anymore. You could last forever on that game. I have to say JoB is approaching DW in my current favorites list. I like the "purity" of the game. It's almost Zen.Quote: boymimboMy favorite is pick em. The strategy is easy and the pay tables can be generous at 99.95%.

My favorite is Double Double Bonus. I like the occasional "Jackpot" kicker hands, and I prefer the doubled payouts for 4-of-a-Kinds over the higher Two Pair. I like to hit and run. I generally play a variety of poker games and video slots when I visit the casino. If I'm not having fun, I jump machines.

I like Bonus Poker. My favorite format, by far, is 50 or 100 play nickel machines. I just don't get the strategy (and won't put in the effort to) of Deuces, although that seems to be the most popular game.

Dueces Wild !
I'm surprised there isn't more support for that.
I am happy with a $ 250 jackpot, and those are
not as rare by far as the elusive Dueces Wild.

I don't like JoB because I can't find the machines that pay well. Every machine close to me is sub 97% and the 50 for a 4 of a K just doesn't do it for me. My favorites are the DDB (5-7-10 or 5-6-9 locally) as you can pull in $200 for 4A and $100 for 2s to 4s. I like Deuces too (1-2-3-4-4-9-16) when the table looks good. I've mesmorized both strategies. I just like the secondary jackpots over straight JOB. I've hit $1,000 royals (quarters) once in my gambling career yet I've hit deuces and 4A more times than I can count.
Once in a while, I'll play triple double bonus but the variance is too big for the jackpot, in my opinion. It's good for $40.
And, of course, a full pay pickem machine is a no-brainer. Love that game. Drives me nuts.
But my favorite: Multi-Strike deuces. Love the opportunity to hit 32,000 credits ($1,600) for the Royal on 8x.

My favorite game is Bonus Poker.. The reasons are: 1) I know the strategy 2) It is usually available as 'full pay' 8/5 in my local casino, and 3) I like the 4 Aces bonus.
I would also probably play JoB, but it is never available full pay where I go, and the other games I just don't know the strategy...
Cheers!

I'm strictly a JoB or Bonus Poker guy myself... If I can't get 9/6 JoB or 8/5 BP, I'll play a slightly lower table.

If I were able to keep poker values straight in my mind, I'd just want a machine that was:
Accessible: I mean not likely to be "hogged" by dedicated VP hounds.
Good Paytable: Which might mean just that: good, not great.
Simple to play: Which would mean simple to do a very good basic strategy even if it were not strictly an optimal strategy.
I heard of one casino that lowered their VP offerings because the good stuff was getting hogged and annoying other players. Some casinos just severely lower the VP comps particularly if your play is only hours and hours of VP. They want you to go slake your thirst at some other machine from time to time

At the casino where i'm staying, i see a bank of 5-7-10 DDB and NSUD deuces machines empty while seeing people sitting at 5-6 JOB or playing 1-2-3-3-4-9-12 deuces. Clearly pay tables mean nothing to them. Finding the prettiest machine apparantly does.
My priorities are to find the games with the best pay tables and play em. Simple to play is important. And yes, VP comps are much less than straight slot comps. At my local casino, they post the accumulation rates of 1 point (.10) for every $40 played or $60 played, while the regular slots are 1 point for every $20 played.

Many casinos do this. I find it amusing that the casinos can come right out and basically say " You will lose more playing slots, so we will comp you more" and people are like, "cool, thanks, I am off to the slot machine !"
Cheers!

I'm going to Vegas for the first time in November. I want to find this machine you've mentioned, because I'd also like to do the 50 or 100 hand. I don't know if all casinos have this machine, so can you tell me what hotel(s) you've seen have this machine for only $.05 per play? Also, is it Super Times Pay?
Thanks,

I'm partial to Jacks or Better, mostly because I can't stand not winning on 2 pair. However in the many years I've played, I'm still looking for my first royal flush (yes, I do know how to play). Mostly a symptom of bad luck and not playing a whole lot.
The game I seem to be 'luckiest' at is Joker Poker - AC Rules. In much less play than Jacks or Better I've I hit a 5 aces progressive for $3k and another $1k for 5 tens. I like the game but its really an extreme game...you either hit big (straight flushes or 5 of Kind) or wipe out fast...there isn't much middle ground. But I like the game because I've hit big over the years.
My absolute favorite though is Ultimate X when I find abandoned multipliers. You don't get to play very much but its by far the best bet in the casino. Who doesn't love having the odds of profit in your favor, even if its just for one play?

Looks like South Point is the only Vegas casino with a 50x JoB at $.05. Palms has some for $.01 and MGM has them for $1, $2.
