Super Peek and Play is the same thing, except the player can burn that next card if he doesn't want it. However, the fee goes up to 3 credits per play.
The game can be played at VideoPoker.com, but a Gold Membership may be required.
For all the details, including a full return table, please see my new page on Super Peek and Play. As always, I welcome all comments.
The question for the poll is would you play Super Peek and Play?
I see people occasionally getting good hands with the "peek", but I've never gotten anything that was even remotely worth the increased cost. The vast majority of the time the "peek" is a worthless card, and when it is usable it doesn't tend to do much better than it would anyway.
Obviously YMMV, but it's not for me.
Quote: HullabalooI've played this game numerous times on VP.com. I think it's one of the worst games I've ever played. I don't even like playing it for free, there's no way I'd ever pay to play.

Much of the value seems to be in turning a pair into a two pair after the deal, as in the example picture I posted, or burning a @#$% shit card that won't help you. Either way, not very exciting.
Quote: bigfoot66Since you may discard the draw card it really is just a game where you are dealt 6 cards on the front end. In practice there is no difference between the “sneak a peek” card and any other card.
I didn't think of it that way, but you're right.

If you only use the Peek/Super Peek option on the specific hands where it is +EV, then what is the drawback of the option? Or, are you required to make the Peek/No Peek Decision before you see your first 5 cards?

The drawback is you have to pay 3 extra credits a hand for the feature. Otherwise it's basically a 6 card draw poker game and you finish with five cards.
Unfortunately this game is dead. I've never even seen it a casino. It was screwed when IGT decided to bring out regular Peek and Play first. People never liked that game and has a complicated strategy, so this game had no chance. Maybe I can swing by Rampart next week to play the only machine nationwide that videopoker.com is aware of. I'll definitely play "Cash King Checkers" while I am there too. That's a fun diversion.

I think this was worse than the newer version because you HAD to take the peek card. I had ton's of times where that "peek" card screwed me from getting a good hand.
I've not thought of Cash King Checkers in years. You can still play that one here:

You mean like this?
"No Royal for YOU!!! Come back one year!"

Yes, you have to decide before the deal.
Quote: DRichI believe the original Sigma Sneak a Peek was a 5 coin game with no extra bets required.
I posted pics of that paytable on this thread.

That's funny, the only place I have seen that game in 10 years is the Cal-Nev-Ari. I stop in there just about every time I go to Laughlin.
