Situation #1:
3 to a flush — 2JA to 9KA
2 to a royal flush — JQ; JK/QK; JA/QA/KA
Given that the 3 to a flush options start at 2JA, does that mean that 2JQs or 2JKs should be played a 2 to a royal flush instead of 3 to a flush?
Situation #2:
3 to a flush — 23Q to 8TK; 2TA to 9TA
2 to a royal flush — TK
a Jack, Queen, King, or Ace
Given that the 3 to a flush options start at 23Q, does that mean that 23Js should be played a Jack instead of 3 to a flush?
I know that neither or BDPW is able to analyze or train on Ultimate X games. Are there publicly available apps or programs that can?
Look for "Perfect Ult-X"
Meanwhile, I will play around in the tool and see if I can answer your question.
are you playing 3 hand, 5 hand or 10 hand?
Situation 1: For 2JQs (using 5d and 8sp as the throw away cards) I get play for a flush when the sum of the multipliers is 3. (remember if you have no multiplier, that is a multiplier of 1). Play for the royal if the sum of the multipliers is 4 or more.
For 2JKs (using the same throw away cards), I get play for flush when sum of multipliers is 3 to 4, and play for royal when the sum of multipliers is 5 or more.
Situation 2: Play for flush when sum of multipliers is 3 - 5. Play J only for sum of multipliers of 6+
Quote: tooncestdcIn the 7/5 Bonus Poker Strategy that is posted at Wizard of Odds, there are a couple of ambiguous rules:

Given that the 3 to a flush options start at 2JA, does that mean that 2JQs or 2JKs should be played a 2 to a royal flush instead of 3 to a flush?

Quote: tooncestdcWizard's strategy and the references above are for 10-hand.
I had an error when typing my results out.. please see above for corrected guidance. I will run 10 handed right now.
using 2JK clubs + 5d, 8s Play for flush for sum of multipliers equal to 10 to 16. Play for royal for sum 17+
For situation 2: using 23J clubs + 5d, 8s Play for flush for sum of multipliers equal to 10 to 17. Play for J only when sum 18+
I think the Wizard points out that his rules are generalizations and are slightly sub optimal. I have found through the software that answers differ depending on the multipliers you have, as you can see here.
Quote: tooncestdcThanks for the recommendation. I bought the app and assuming that the math is sound (it seems likely that it is), it was quite helpful. With multiplier breakpoints, I've been able to put together a pretty solid paper strategy.
