my local casino has Taphouse VP.
it comes in 3 and 5 line versions.
to play the bonus feature, it's 'max bet + 5' coin in, no matter which line version you choose.
the JoB version is 8/6 at $1 denom. Return is 98.56%. (regular 8/6 JoB is 98.4%.)
8/6 JoB is also the best vp in the casino.
the +.16% difference should not be worth the additional variance. (Bonus game occurs once every 13spins on avg but payout= $0 is somewhat often.)
but I play it anyway because it's the best payout in the whole casino AND I like the bonus feature.
(if I didn't like the bonus, I would have just stuck with regular 8/6 JoB.)
What VP bonus features do you like to play (besides vulturing Ult X) and why?

Mostly double STP for me. I like the random multipliers and the sounds of the game sadly. If I found full pay UX for Triple play nickels I'd probably play that more too. It's fun.
And quick quads too. That one makes you think bit more as well.

I've sworn that one off. Too swingy for me for zero extra return. :( I think it will keep growing though.

I have never played it for VP, is it the same as the slot version where you throw the dice? If so I wonder if DI folks set the dice and flick them at the same angle all the time.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed.

I'm a big fan of Shockwave (original - never seen the "Super" version). Nice payoff for an event that seems to hit at a decent frequency.

It's a ten credit per line bet like UX. The dice randomly roll 1 in 6 times and can be on the deal or draw and all wins are multiplied by the dice results.

I'm a fan of Aces and Faces.
The why: Unlike the double bonus versions - which reward a four of a kind very well, the Ace and Faces also do this, but they typically have a stronger pay table on the lower end, resulting in less variance.
For example:
1000
250
400
200
125
40
30 (I've seen 35 in some of the $2 games, and 25 in other lower denominations)
20
15
10
5
I have found that the games that offer 400 for any quad invariably pay 5 for two pair, as well as one pair of JoB. And..when I see how many times I get two pair, compared to how many times I hit a quad...my money likes the Aces and Faces better.

I don't like DSTP because they add together the multipliers instead of multiplying them. I feel like when I see 5x and 5x it should be the product not the sum.

Pay tables would be hideous and/or it would be very tough to get a multiplier in the first place.

I had such ridiculous positive variance when I played wheel poker, it was hard for me not to love it. But there is none at the nearest casinos in my area (now that I'm out of vegas)

I think I should reiterate how much I like Ultimate X. Truly addicting game. If it weren't for me need to generate a paycheck, I don't think I could quit playing it for very long.
