Hope someone has figured this one out. If I play 8/5 Bonus Poker using the optimum strategy for 9/6 Jacks or Better, what would the payback percentage be? I am thinking it will not reduce the 99.17% by very much. It seems that the 2 games are very similar when playing practice sessions. Thanks for viewing.

Thanks for the info. Wife and I will switch to a 3/5-play Bonus Poker machine when ever we get point multipliers at certain casinos. At the quarter level, I do not know of any 3/5-play 9/6 JOB machines in Vegas.

According to VPFree2, South Point and Palms have them.

The Cromwell has 99.54 Job 25 cent 1 line
Wow, what gives
Decent video poker on the strip
I'll be checking this out :-)
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

I'm 98.45% sure Caesars does not have 9/6 JOB for $10/point.

Well done. If Caesars would have that, it would definitely be news to me.

I was playing that last week. There are just 4 machines right in the front highlighted with a video sign promoting their payback. Yes they only give 1 point for $50 as clearly labeled by the players card slot. Better than the 9/6 JoB at NYNY that don't give any points.

So there's a 0.46% chance they don't have it then, huh?

That assumes you can find a seat in AC... during weekends those full pay JoB machines tend to be packed.

I somehow missed the Cromwell's good paytables... those are some good machines in a good location.

They had it when I went in November. There are only 2 machines at one property.

Edit: never mind, it was 9/5 (98.45%).
I heart Crystal Math.

I did the math on obtaining Seven Star on a $50/pt quarter NSUD machine.

It will take 40 hands to obtain 1 TC/RC. In one hour you could play 1000 hands if the machine is pretty fast, for 25 points/hr. If you can play 20 hours a day earning 500 points you get a 125 TC bonus. So every day you'll earn 625 points. It takes 240 days of play to get to 150k points for Seven Star.

Your EV cost will only be $324 since you'll only coin in $120k.

I prefer the quarter 10 play on 7/5 bonus lol. Only will take 2000 hands a day over 20 days, or 4000 hands a day for 10 days. More practical. EV loss will be considerable at $9,950 but the amount you get back in free play should balance out.

PS:

Doing 10 DIADs is 500k coin in (least possible for 7*). How're you getting 120k? You mean 1.2M?

And you'd be earning 31.25 TC/hr if doing 1k HPH with $40/TC.

That would imply platinum is a 7 diamond an 8 and 7 star a 9 - I think I would have to start gold at a 4 tbh

I would rate those as Double Diamond.

EV = Expected Value..... essentially the return from a given scenario. I can't answer the second part of your question.

I like the 8/5 bonus poker at the rio. $1 denom and about a 1% expected loss.
