8/5 bonusQuote: JWSAt the casinos I frequent (Wynn, Bellagio, Aria, etc.) it seems that $1 JoB video poker machines are becoming less prevalent with many more "Double Double..." and "Deuces Wild..." machines. It feels that JoB is becoming outdated. I think my brain can only memorize one video poker strategy. Can anyone suggest which video poker game I should try to master that would be present in more casinos and likely to be around for several more years? Or should I just stick with JoB, which I have already memorized?
Thanks for your help!

I agree. Not that my vote is worth as much weight as Axel's.
Yes that's my point, just play 8/5 bonus instead. Even that's becoming hard to find. There was a time you wouldn't even consider 8/5 bonus. VP has declined 80% in 8 years.Quote: RS8/5 bonus is same strategy as JoB, minus a few differences (like penalty card differences).
Perhaps he should learn DW Variations.
Quote: JWSThanks for the advice. 8/5 bonus is so similar to JoB even my brain can handle it. What are "DW variations"?
DW full pay, where the straight flush pays 9, 4-of-a-kind pays 5. Then there is NSUD, Deuces Deluxe.
But there's still lots of 8/5 Bonus if you know where to look.
Old guy with an oxygen tank sits by me.
He puts in a 10 dollar bill. He immediately cashes out and 40 quarters come out.
He starts playing with quarters.
I talk to him, he likes playing with quarters and the sounds of the quarters make when he wins.
Kind of neat in a way, While I am playing, I am hearing the sounds of a past Vegas.

There are many slot players today who don't even know that years ago you had to pull a handle with a 3/4 size 8-ball at the end (without the 8).
I doubt that there are many. Would be a good prop bet(for me and the yes)Quote: GreasyjohnThere are many slot players today who don't even know that years ago you had to pull a handle with a 3/4 size 8-ball at the end (without the 8).
