When I was on vacation, I hit a decent progressive. I will post a picture later.
Last year, I hit one close to $8000, I thought it was pretty high.
Quote: pokerfaceWhat is the highest $1 progressive Royal (with $5 bet) you have seen?

That I've seen? I saw a suited progressive where spades was over $12,000 and the average of all suits was probably about $8000 in KC in January. It made a 9/5 DDB game slightly +EV.
Honestly before I seeing and eventually hitting the following one, I've never seen one bigger than $8000.
When I saw it, I knew I could not refuse the opportunity. It's definitely above 100%.
After hours of hard work, feeding many $100 bills, and most important of all, sheer luck, I hit it.
Here it is:

Yes, it's 9/5 DDB and my hit was indeed a spade Royal.
Looks like the game was about 104% when you hit it.

But everywhere I look people have been showing pics of spade Royals lately...ugh
<--- only suit I haven't hit in a casino
I'd love to play to it but $8/spin is too rich for my blood!

Very nice. I wonder if the low base game (96%) + fast meter rise (2%) will ever become a mainstay in the near future. It seems to be a winner on all ends, the casino gets to install a bad paytable, give out more only on royals. The players break normal strategy to get a royal which means more hold until it does. Random people look at high progressives and take shots at it. Pros spend their bankroll when it gets up.
Indian casino ?Quote: PBguyI checked the game I mentioned above and it's now at 19,700+. It's a 6/5 JoB game on an old Pot o' Gold machine.

Never saw a $8 bet machine before.
At $8 a bet, it would be equivalent to 12,300+ on a $5 bet, still pretty high.

Yes Viejas in San Diego in the High Limit area. Viejas doesn't have any good video poker. Even the $2 JoB in the high roller area isn't full pay since the RF only pays 2000 instead of 4000.
I usually play vp at Barona since they have full pay 9/6 JoB 25c machines.
Quote: PBguyOne of the local tribal casinos has a progressive JoB but it's an $8 bet. Right now the jackpot is just under $17,000. Seems like a very good return.

Can you post the payscale?.

There's another bank of these that only requires 2 coins for the royal. It has gotten over 9k at least once because people play more coins than necessary (up to 40 coins, I think, is allowed.) The auto hold is also really bad. Unfortunately, between pros and keno addicts, the bank is tough to get on.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 25, 50, 200
Same as the 6/5 game listed here I believe:
https://wizardofodds.com/games/video-poker/tables/jacks-or-better/
That shows a 94.99% return. Not sure how much better it is with the high RF jackpot. If I'm figuring it correctly it's close to 100%.

Replacing the 200 (or 800) royal with 19700/8 gets me to 99.135% on that game.

It's a lot better than that with strategy adjustments, 99.98%.
The highest progressive I've seen was about 102%. 98.86% Double Deuces with a $2500+ quarter royal.
At MSS, I've seen it hit at $14K (8/5 DDB by cashier).
A few weeks ago, the quarter 8/5 DDB over in the corner by Penny Lane hit at $3300.
MSS machines typically add $0.01 per dollar bet to the progressive.
