I put in $150 cash plus I had $120 free play. I cashed out at $100.
I played 226 hands at $0.50 for $2.50 = $565 through the machine
I played 1156 hands at $0.25 for $1.25 = $1445 through the machine
it cost me $170 to wager $2010. I count my free play as money in but I may just keep track of actual cash lost too.
I am just curious how to figure this out as I would like to keep track for now on. Prior I was only keeping track of my royals I mean royal. It is easy to keep count when I can do it on 1 finger.
So I guess why I considered it a strange session is I did not get a single straight, flush, or full house. However I got approx 9 4oak but none of them were on DDB. :-( especially because 1 was Aces and 1 was 2's.
result is a positive number when you win and negative when you lose.
So for this session:
return % = ($2010 - $170) / $2010 x 100 = 91.54%
For my session tonight at Hollywood STL:
800 hands of 35/8/5 Bonus at quarters
Coin-in: $1000
Result: -$47.50
return % = ($1000 - $47.50) / $1000 x 100% = 95.25%
And if you really didn't draw to a single straight, flush, or full house that entire session, I would consider calling the gaming commission. Unless you're playing a class II machine and don't know it of course.
I was doing
(170/2010) X 100 which gave me 8.46 so I was close I guess.
100% + result/coin-in
(again result is positive if you win and negative if you lose)
And yeah PA machines are def. not Class II, but are you sure you never finished with either a straight, flush, or full house for ANY of those 1382 hands? Because you're more likely to win Powerball back-to-back than to do that, so obviously I'm a bit skeptical. For 8/5 JoB, the probability of that is about 1 in 350,598,317,486,471,154,255. Now the probability of not getting a dealt full house, flush, or straight in 1382 hands is a lot more believable 1 in 26,062. Last night I got at least 3 or 4 dealt straights, a couple of dealt flushes one of which I broke for the Royal and missed...blah, and I think a dealt full house (not sure of that).
And my condolences for living in PA and liking to play video poker. The machine I played last night returns 99.66% long-term. Try to save up as much money to make it to Vegas when you can! ;)

Yeah I wish I could play better machines. The problem is, whenever we are in AC or LV I am with my wife and she can't stand VP so I never get to play them there. Last time I play 9/6 but my wife sat next to me and played keno so my end return was probably better just playing at home.
As for my no straight or higher, I didn't really start noticing until I was probably half way through. I quite possibly could have had a str or a flush in the first 4-500 but if I did it was only 1 or 2 because at that point I started thinking. WTH I can't get a str/flush/FH and I started to really pay attention and laugh about it. At one point I think I had either a 3oak or 4oak 10 out of 12 hands including back to back 4oak once which was dealt. I also had 2 pair 16 out of 20 hands. I have played quite a bit of VP and this session just really seemed out of place. I guess though, the more you play the more you see a little of everything. Hopefully soon I will see back to back royals.
