Reno February 2022

I discovered that I never wrote a trip report for my February Reno trip, but here are my notes. I've had a macabre desire to visit the Reno Ramada for years, and I finally had a chance — fortunately I made it back to my family unscathed.

Sunday, February 20

Circus Circus
On Presidents Day Weekend, the Midway was packed. But some of the Midway games were closed, and at the upstairs XP arcade, only one girl was handling all the prize redemptions.

Still have a bunch of coin droppers; most take bills, but one machine said “coins only”
Cashier sold me a $1 slot token and they looked like they had racks of chips in the back room, but no table games.
I asked employee stationed at two tables (covered) if it was possible they’d bring table games back in the foreseeable future, and he shook his head.

I do not remember a Ramada Casino in Reno. Did it used to be something else?

It is (or at least was) Diamond’s Casino with the hotel above being a Ramada Inn. Off of 4th St., it’s visible from I-80 between Virginia St and the 580 (formerly Hwy 395) interchange.
