Only difference is the stock market is positive EV.

As long as the stock is going up it is positive.

Another post that exhibits a deep lack of understanding of the term EV. It is nearly incomprehensible that such a post is made at a math oriented forum.

Lack of understanding? Seriously man. I understand what it takes. I win extremely well I believe. I post in detail how and what I wagered, won or lost.

My sessions are extremely minute because I found what evens the odds to favor myself, my thoughts and my actions at the table.

No, I don't sit there playing, wagering hundreds of hands for numerous shoes. All I need is a few hands to win, walk, cash out and take a several day to week rest at it. It works for me!

I never said that so far whatever system you are using has not worked for you. All I am saying is that you have no clue what EV is, nor itís implications to gambling.

Winners don't have to write long complex and statistical articles that will never 'always apply'.

Oh yeah, I forgot, how come the cage cashiers must ask. "Sorry sir, before I am able to cash those chips you have to tell me how you were able to win them".

And also, oh never mind, that's enough.

It does not WORK for you, it may have resulted in winning money thus far. If the math doesn't show whatever you are doing is over 100%, then it didn't/ doesn't
WORK for you or anyone. Luck/positive variance will eventually get eaten up by the house edge.

Don't fight it Mr. Clark. These EV folks talk the talk very loudly but hardly, if ever, walk the walk. Their "math" has them totally defeated, totally deflated, and blindly risk averted. In some ways, they are very smart (read this correctly); their financial circumstances do not allow them to play and lose which is a good and prudent thing.

The former International / Hilton / Westgate is not much of a casino these days - maybe 75 tables from what I understand. And I am sure that that 15000 sq. ft. suite Alan the mattress millionaire stayed in has been broken up into smaller rooms. (Alan, by the way, supposedly gambled away all his money after selling his mattress manufacturing plant and ended up an Uber driver. Richard Wilk actually confirmed that Alan is an Uber driver, but claims that he just does this because he likes it not because he is broke, and that Alan no longer comes to Vegas.)

Speaking of going downhill, did Wilk indeed go from being an independent host for uber high rollers, to working for The D?

Sounds very clever Marcus. I hope it continues to work 👍

One thing I noticed about that doco from Theroux was, once again, someone (Alan) smoking while playing. That would be something Australia-wide I'd say, that is no longer part of the gambling scene here. Not even the smell of it in the carpet. That's something that would help keep gamblers gambling at the b&m casinos here, along with the fact that online gambling is prohibited here.
