I was living across the street from the DuPont Plaza in San Juan for the fire. We were drinking on the balcony enjoying the fire until they started bringing out body bags by the score. Worst thing I ever saw until 2001.

MGM fire was before my time.

But I was staying at Bellagio when Caesar's was on fire, this is the pic I took from my penthouse, as I recall, 2001.

Axel, if you post a pic of any of those fake Rolexes at any online watch forum anyone there will immediately detect that it is a fake. What might look indistinguishable to the real thing to you, is obviously fake to anyone who knows Rolexes. I'd go over all the nuances, but it would take a small paragraph. Actually, give anyone who knows, a good pic of the front of the watch and he will be able to tell easily whether it is real or fake. The BACK of the Rolex is where it might be harder to tell, as there is no writing on the back (except on some very, very old Rolexes) and less tell tale signs of replica, but still the crown would be visible and anyone in the know may tell the difference between the real Rolex crown and replica. On the other hand, I will agree that flashed in an instant on one's wrist, it is harder to tell the real from the fake, but one thing about real versus fake that anyone with jewelry experience may tell easily in person, is the difference between precious metals (platinum, gold) and for example fake gold-tone crapola. Platinum especially, in person, anyone experienced may tell the difference between it and say, stainless steel, just visually notwithstanding that platinum weighs a ton compared to even 18K gold.

Most fake watches just try to imitate something in stainless steel, because it isn't worth the price of gold or platinum to place these precious metals into a worthless fake, nor are there any imitations to precious metals that look anything like the real thing.

At a recent session the female pit boss, and I know her pretty well but she is one of those types who doesn't get excited one way or another at much, was telling me to stop banging the winning cards on the table, because the sound bothered her. I ignored her, but afterwards, up in the suite, after the winning session, I was actually fairly mad at her. The nerve.

And then towards the end of my session my shoe got bad so I moved to another table with a few K leaving most of my chips at the first table, and she actually said "you can't do that" as in can't have chips at two tables. I literally laughed in her face and told her "I'll do what I want." What a silly ___.

What bothers me about the whole affair is the negative energy it will create to have a showdown with her over anything that should really, be none of her business. Do they tell craps players to be quiet when they're winning?

I thought I was on block???

I was talking without being able to see the movement.

Anyone can look up on YouTube video and take a crash course in detecting fakes. Any decent one most people probably can't tell from just a photo taken and post up here.

For anybody interested in the subject.

I toleja I unbanned most everyone.

The movement isn't integral to figuring out fake or not, just a good clear still photo of the front and most anyone who knows may tell real or not. There are a lot of tell tale signs on and aspects to the dial, crown, case that give it away, if you know what to look for.

The good fakes have Japanese sweep movement in them and sweep just like the real ones.

Tell ya' what, take a very good still photo of your fake Rolex and post it in one of the watch forums. Not one person there will be fooled, and you'll get an education in what to look for.

(In that video you posted I could tell which one was fake instantly, just from the circular sweep grooving in the sub-dials.) PLUS in that video you are taking about a fake that costs a couple THOUSAND dollars. I actually have that exact watch, the real one, a Daytona with the ceramic dial, and mine cost about twenty grand, and that was a very good deal. I can't see someone paying thousands of dollars for a great fake that still, end of the day, is a fake. Your typical Rolex fake costs fifty bucks and looks ridiculous.

And by the way, just as I mentioned above, that "great" (but still detectable) fake you posted in your video there is stainless steel. That's as far as they'll go with the fakes, imitating stainless steel watches, they're not going to slam that fake movement and dial into a block of platinum or 18K gold, no way.

Also, just as it says at the end of your video, and this answers sabre's question, "You can fake the watch, but can you fake the way it makes you feel?" Wearing a fake makes you feel...fake. Wearing the real thing, well, that's right up there with how you feel when driving a nice car versus a basic transportation car, or how you feel when you pull up to your ocean front or mountain view estate, versus a little apartment. Any car will get you where you're going, any watch will tell the time, and any house will shelter you from the rain, but...nice versions of these will make you feel differently. Unless of course you're a Buddhist monk, wrapped in a sheet, in which case you don't give a sh*t about any of that, or at least you're not supposed to.

This picture was obviously not taken from a Bellagio penthouse because you can see the Bellagio on the left.

Is that little bit of road Flamingo? If the pic is from Bellagio, then that road would be Dean Martin, right?
