There are pecking orders in J for meals. Full paid usually get 1st choice followed by you status. Upgrades and points spenders at at the bottom otherwise.

Goal for the trip was $3k -- have some friends coming into town tomorrow for the weekend so not sure how much playing I will do until they leave on Sunday -- but, being 60% of the way to my goal feels pretty good so far

I just read that Delta does their First Class meals from the front on even numbered flights and from the rear on odd numbered flights. I have never noticed that before and don't know if it is true. I have a couple Delta flights coming up and I will try to confirm it.
Quote: DeMangoNo fridge is a dealbreaker even for comped rooms. Others will bring one up to your room free, if you tell them for Medical reasons like blood sugar.
Rooms -- even low-level, standard rooms like I receive as comps -- increasingly include a free fridge at Biloxi-area casinos. Last trip Island View (Gulfport) and IP (Biloxi) had free fridges. But none at the (more upscale) Beau Rivage. That was perhaps to be expected, as it was only recently the Beau (largest resort hotel in the area) put coffee pots in every room.

Three Walmart’s in greater Biloxi area!
Smaller food-only Walmarts forced all the Winn-Dixie grocery stores out of business in the Biloxi area. It wasn't pretty, but Winn-Dixie couldn't compete against Walmart.

What are the reasons that Indians in India are so inquisitive about personal lives of others?
Culturally, India and Indians are interested a little bit in how you make your living, but more in where you are from, what language you speak, what your parents do for a living, whether you are married, what food you eat, whether you have kids, what your siblings are up to, and that inscrutable look on their faces when they find out every detail about you is because that Indian brain is working overtime placing you in relation to all that it already knows, has suspected, and may or may not be coming right.

Vegas is a politics free zone for me. I don’t care if you agree or disagree with my politics, just keep it to your damn self in Vegas. I’m there to gamble and have fun.
And I prefer awkward silences over meaningless chit chat in taxis and Ubers. Just let me pretend to look at my phone in peace!

Had a guy go full conspiracy theory on me one time about Freemasons and FEMA camp end of the world scenarios in Lyft ride in Vegas. Definitely some characters there.
Quote: aceofspadeshis diatribe soon turned to Israel and how the Jews control America -
I always laugh when people say that.
The Jews have always controlled
a lot because they're smart. They're
usually the smartest people in the

things, the dummies?
If the Jews control America that's fine
with me. Much better them then about
15 other groups I could name.
Then room is fairly minimalistic. There is no clock radio, no dresser. My room had doors to then bathroom and closets that swing open and closed. The two leather chairs and a table, a 50'' TV and plenty of USB and outlets to plug things in. Then washroom has a shower only and for me and seemed to have too much floor space overall.
Things that I really liked (first impressions)
- the walk from check-in to the elevators was minimal and did not take you through the casino. There were also lots of elevators (three banks of 6) each serving 8-9 levels. And they had a 13th floor.
- the check in could be completed via smartphone and the digital key works.
- the kiosks are fairly intuitive and not dissimilar to airport check ins. I miss the human touch nonetheless and actually had a problem with my check-in which was resolved by a human at the "VIP check-in" where the I uncountable stands for Inept.
I'm really enjoyed walking through Eately which faces the strip and allows people to experience a wide variety of Italian foods without setting foot in the casino. It seems to be really high quality and I'll be sampling a bit more in the next couple of days. Eately is set up like a loosely designed food court with about 10-12 different stations and self-sealing. It opened two months ago.
The casino itself is meh but I'll go more info detail on that soon.

I took a Lyft last night to Venetian - the driver was a 50-something white guy who talked non-stop about breaking his apartment lease to buy a new house - telling me he was flat broke - then changing his story to tell me he owns a rental property in Fort Lauderdale - his phone also wasn't working so he was asking me directions to Venetian from Park MGM LOL

Meanwhile did the walk to Ellis Island for the $7. Steak and eggs breakfast. Players card was required. They and a spin to win and the prize was a free steak dinner.
It drizzled a bit this morning and the two biggest gripes was the race later today and the escalators not working. Walked up from Ellis Island to the fashion mall to buy shoes. Casino royale had a promotion where you get free play for $20 when you lose $20 and then another $20 when you lose each $100. Applies to VP. Assuming a 97% pay you would lose $20 for $667 coin in. So on the first $20 the $20 in FP works out to 3%. After that it's worth about .6%, better than MGM or CET rates.
Shoes bought for a good deal from Dicks. Walked back, caught the noon fountain show @ Bellagio - still a great spectacle and attraction. Weather has cleared and it's time for.a swim.
this Ace, I miss him.

The drawback is there no full pay at Casino Royale at all. And is not a guaranteed 0.6%. If you get lucky and hit a $1000 Royal on that first quarter spin as a new member, you'll need to lose $1018.75 to get that $20 freeplay and $1118.75 to get the next one. That being said, it's not a bad place to play for a low roller at VP. But Cromwell has a full pay bank for quarters. That is a better deal.

The show is very Penn heavy but they are so good at what they do it is fun to watch
Park pool is nothing special. At this time of year o my one pool is open, small, shallow, but heated.
Went over to the NYNY to get my zumanity ticket (myVEGAS). Played some face up PGP. There was a doofus at the end who was betting black. So the banker sets their hand and all you have to do is try to beat both hands. So he fouls his hand by splitting his aces to a-K in the front (2) and a-q in the back (5).
So the customary thing is to call the pit over to see if they will allow a one time mistake. She balks, saying that they don’t do that in FaceUp. The bet is $175. He appeals. They call over the pit manager. He gets on the phone. He says, “you did this earlier” so we can’t help you. Player appeals and says, “but the dealer had misseslt her hand so I got to reset mine” - true. Pit calls someone and he comes back and says, “you did this earlier at one of our other properties.” He nods his head.
Then he gets mad and talks about “Raping the table” and almost loses it.
I found it amazing that MGM has a master file of ally at other properties and that put a note on his file, shared by other properties, of his play.
I felt it equally amazing that this guy couldn’t figure out how to set a hand and then scream foul when the casino won’t help him.
He didn’t rape the table but he and his girlfriend did leave up a few hundred.

I leave the tip on the pillow.
First hand dealt J, J v dealer 6 - dealer busted with 22
Second hand natural for me
Thirdly hand double down 8, 3 v dealer Q -- took the card face down, dealer turned over an 8 for 18, dealer then turned my card over - an 8 as well - 19 for me
Won the next hand then the dealer pulled a 21 against my 20 and I decided to end the session +500
Trip is +2300

I usually do if I have the room cleaned during my stay. I left $5 for a 3 night stay this past weekend at a nowhere business type hotel.
I don’t think it’s very common for them to get tipped.
