Good trip report. I noticed in there that you tried Mississippi Stud. I've always wanted to play that game. I know that there are a lot of swings in it since people tend to chase. But, I think at $5, I might be able to stick it out for a while. I'm going to Vegas in March. Do you know of any places on the strip that offer it around that price? I saw that you were at the Rio when you tried it. I probably won't be off the strip too much.

Great trip report. I'm glad you did well and had fun so please do not be offened if I now discuss some serious mistakes you made.

Third part service for room rental: This means that no matter how willing the casino is to comp you to all your room charges they can not do it. They can only comp you to the misc. charges that you add to the room bill.

Play prior to registering. Okay but only if you already have a players club card. If you play without a players club card, you don't get credit for the time or the money.

Other casinos: fine. You explored, You had fun,,, but you should sign up for a card. Freebies? Specials? MAILERS?

NYNY: Always visit the high roller room in NYNY. You get drinks right away there is a buffet in the back and you don't have to stay long. IF you do not have a card...order it from the high roller room...I'm told that your account starts off with a 'plus sign' if the pit clerk from the high roller room delivers the paperwork.

Anyway, it was fun for you. Rained water on the road and rained orange chips in Vegas. Great job! By the way, I think you doing 6:5 downtown and didn't realize it. Well, only a few of our members will shoot you for that.

No offense taken.

I get the room thing. I don't know if I could have gotten over $200 in room comps, which would have been the price difference.

The box man got me a card right away so my early play counted.

I signed up at Golden Nugget, Binion's, Golden Gate and Fremont for their cards. Forgot 4 Queens.

Thanks for the NYNY tip.

The blackjack was more just fun to play. I know HE was high. No pitch games in Arizona. They recently allowed RSA here, so that's nice. Now if they'd stay on soft 17...

I didn't see Mississippi Studio in the strip casinos I was in, but I wasn't looking for it.

MS Stud is a fun game but be careful when thinking $5 table. You can get sucked in for $40 on a $5 start and whiff on the hand.

Its always a bit of a toss up, but by using a separate entity to get your 'discounted room' you definitely preclude a full room comp. I like to 'stay where I play' and go thru the hotel itself for my room. Its not always the best deal, but at least they are ABLE to give me a full room comp if they are so inclined when I check out.

I agree with GWAE. It can be an addicting game, but you'll burn your money. I saw Ballys having $5 Mississippi stud during week days. I can't speak for weekends. Good luck.

Thanks for the great trip report! I enjoyed the details of your craps exploits, and was glad the bad taste from the downtown dice was quickly washed away at NYNY!

Did you have a brief chat with Teller? Because he never talks on stage, it feels like a decades-long act and a treat to chat with him in person!
