We asians get whatever we want in casinos.
First 8 dealt a 3 drew a 10
Second 8 dealt a 2 drew 7 for 17
Dealer has 5 6 4 6
Amazing - would've gotten me back to the -3k point
Get 77
Dealer has 19

So you're down 6K? It's all
so confusing.
Lost 9
I am taking a break from blackjack until the tournament in Vegas
I'm down 23 for the year
Of course American Pharoah - who I predicted would win the triple crown, will do so and I will not profit one penny
I am the worlds biggest loser

It's ok I'm such a F'ng loser at casinos - used to be so much fun and could play back and forth and enjoy a weekend - now, I start at losing and it just keeps going and going and going spiraling downward -- there is no fun anymore - but, I cannot fully stop playing until I get back the 23 I am down

OK, so as a test, go to a $ 25 table and play there for the min.
a) Find the prettiest dealer.
b) And/or the prettiest other player.
c) Sit down and relax.

Definitely GA type stuff there.
I know you didn't ask opinion but that never stopped before.
Stop over betting your bank roll and start counting and maybe you Canale some money.
Where is Sally to show us her happiness for someone losing?

OK, cool. Time to re-group. Take a break. Take a fresh look at things tomorrow at a $ 25 table. Or give some 25 cent VP a whirl.
AND YES, I know easier said than done.

Not true. If you lost all the time
you would have to quit going and
what fun would that be. I wish
you would have stuck to your plan
of not going this weekend, it would
have worked out better.

That was never my plan - I always planned to play in the tournament. Just feels like variance doesn't vary lol

Quote: dipthetrustfundIt's only a matter of time until the explosion with serious consequences and you all egg him on. Devastating! Cheap entertainment or people pissed off at attorneys, revenge I guess? Wow, impressive, a free beach towel and lose thousands, LOL. ROMAFL, "I got a shot to win the tournament".
I should've skipped law school and obtained a magic monkey instead I suppose
For someone who hates attorneys you sure are obsessed with one
I kid I kid
Quote: trustfundjailShould have went to Dominick's in the Bronx or Pellegrino's down in Little Italy. Had a great dinner, bought a bunch of bottles and some beach towels. Would probably have saved multi thousands?!?! LOL.
Mike Burke sure wished he would have skipped law school, but wound up in the D.O.C. after playing some skilled blackjack and getting those comps and beach towels as well! LOL.
Good seeing you again so soon Bac79
Like others have said, AoS: take your action to Borgata!
Quote: chaunceyb3Just received the equivalent of a margin call from a GNAC host telling me I didn't play enough to justify printing a $25 match play coupon last trip. He would be locking my account until I stopped by the players' club. I asked him why $50/hand at pai gow tiles and $25 at craps for two hours wasn't enough. He just laughed. :/

Really? That's not enough action on the house edge?

If you ask mario, you will now have all properties notified.

Yeah Ace, and someone you know very well played at the same tables as me, and can confirm my average bets.
I think I'm going to liquidate the comp dollars I have left on my next trip. That phone conversation was pretty laughable.

Are they trying to make you "trespass" yourself (in that they will make sure you are so fed up you boycott them)?

Here's where you messed up. You should have asked for towels.

Lemieux66, he was the one selling borg buffets for $10

If you mean one hour each, then it's probably not enough. Figure $50 theo on tiles and another $25 on craps and you're at $75 total theo loss for the two hours. They probably count the face value of the match play as its value (even though the theo it's less) so that'd represent 33.3%. If their total reinvestment percentage is 30%, the match play is too much even by itself. That doesn't leave any room for room comps, mailers, or pool towels.

I have said it many times: GNAC is the most untrustworthy casino in New Jersey. Its entire operation is unclassy. The marketing people there are rude and hate honoring their own promotions. Why anyone gives them action when there are actual nice casinos all around the GN is beyond me.
The Golden Nugget is a cheap-ass casino with gross rooms, aimed at elderly people. That is its market and desired clientele. It's pretty much the living incarnation of Mission's dream of an Atlantic City assisted-living home.
Ace and anyone else who wants to bet more than $10 a hand and wants to see an entertainer under the age of 70 -- you have many better options.
Quote: aceofspadesHow the F can variance ALWAYS be against me -- it seems I have not been on any type of winning streak in months -- down 23 is insufferable - I might hang up my blackjack shoes after the tournament in LV end of June -- it does not seem like a "fair" game anymore (meaning...the variance completely magnifies the HE beyond the limits of good taste) - back in the day I would win with a 20...these days, it's almost an automatic push -- did something change in the game?!?
Ace, I would like to chime into this conversation on account of how much I can empathise with your post (albeit on a much lower-rolling scale).
After suffering a run of losses that would make an independent observer believe the house was cheating, I swore myself off the game and took a break of 5 years. After some motivation that I can't recall, I started again and actually enjoyed the game for a while but was soon reminded just how 'unfair' the game can be. Someone posted a brilliant thread on this forum a couple of months ago (too lazy to find it) stating it simply that there are too many times that you're convinced of being in a winning position only to have the dealer pull a rabbit out of a hat. Hence the horrible disappointment compared to other games where you don't know which way it will go until the end. That was my 'Road to Damascus' moment to finally tell the game to take a long walk off a short pier.
I reckon you should indeed hang up your boots - even before the tournament. If golf is not your thing (where you get exercise with a shilling on the side); have a go at Baccarat or Craps: both very social and you don't get into a position of being a furlong in front only to stumble at the post. Either way, give BJ the Khyber Pass: it's a crap game all round.
