I have been racking my brain and searching the internet trying to find a social club down here where I can play my beloved Dominoes. Last week while searching the internet, to my amazing surprise, I found a Casino (Miami Casino) that offers Dominoes. I took a trip to the Casino to check it out.
The casino charges each player $1.50/ 30 minutes to rent the table to play. The players at the table decide what type of game to play and how much to gamble on so you are playing against other players not the house similar to Texas Hold’em Poker except the House doesn’t get to take a rake of each pot. Playing Dominoes for $3/hour is definitely cheaper than any house rake I have ever seen in Poker. Players must buy chips from the Casino since you are not allowed to gamble with cash. There are 4 Domino tables now which are located in the Poker Room. This is the first time I have ever seen my beloved Dominoes offered in a Casino.
If any of you have seen the game of Dominoes at any Casino, please let me know. If you are a fan of Dominoes, tell your Casino operators to carry this game.
Dominoes for Life!!!!!
What about the old Hialeah dog track? It was supposed to re-open as a small club of some sort.
Go into any hardware store or super market in South Florida and they've got a dozen bridge tables on display: Maps of the USA and Maps of Cuba with racks to hold the dominoes. Its a big social game amongst the Spanish speaking market. There has got to be lots of games in the area if so many tables are being sold. I dimly recall one teacher in the local high school in Hialeah who hosts the Dominoes session each week: all the men in the neighborhood show up and play dominoes at his home about a mile east of Palmetto General Hospital.

Miami Jai Alai is now Miami Casino! We are talking about the same place.
Quote: SOOPOOIt is great to have a passion like you do! I actually watched part of that dominoes show on ESPN and it did not televise well. Most any new sport will catch my attention but dominoes did not. I have been in casinos around the world, too, and have never seen it being played, but I was never actually looking for them. Congrats on finding a casino close to where you live that has them.
Thanks for the kind words regarding my passion, SOOPOO. My passion for anything gambling related is borderline insane. My wife complains all the time that I am too passionate about it.
The only thing that helps me when I can't get my "gambling fix" is coming to the WizardofVegas forum and reading about everyone's gambling adventures. I thank the entire WOV community for all the great advice/info I have received. Since officially joining the forum less than 2 months ago, I am beginning to reap a lot of benefits at the Casino. I will repay you by sharing with everyone what I learn/continue to learn about Casino gaming also.

Bingo! That's the game that I play. The Casino only charges the players for time at $1.50/30 minutes. The Floor manager comes to the table every 30 minutes to collect $1.50 from each player.
Miami Casino is in Hileah, FL which is a highly Spanish/Latin community so they prefer to play with Double 9 Dominoes. They also like to play different versions of Dominoes as opposed to what I am accustomed to. I've been playing Double 6 Dominoes (Draw) as ME provided a link above for 20 years so there's a steep learning curve for me.
Quote: 1BBIt's not a casino but have you ever been to Domino Park in Little Havana?
Yes, I have been there. Nice set up but everyone there plays Double 9 Spanish style so I don't get to play. I play Double 6 Draw.
