I was playing Pai Gow and the player next to me had a 10 high Pai Gow.. and the dealer hand was a 9 high Pai Gow. If that wasn't enough... (the rules on showing each other hands is very relaxed at this casino...as is most) I had 2h3h4h6h in my hand.. and we joked that I should be able to borrow his 5h to complete my straight flush.
To have a 10 high and a 9 high Pai Gow in the same deal.. and given that a 234 were also known before the 9 high was flipped. crazyness. I wish I had taken a picture of it.

You probably won't see it again, if in a long while. Cherish those precious Pai Gow moments, I certainly do.
A 9-high occurs once in every 4,960 hands and a 10-high once in every 620 hands, rounded.
So a 10-high beating a dealer's 9-high is about once in every 3,074,652 hands.
But four to a straight flush that you do not get?
Oh...we all see them way too often...

I would guess it's even a significantly longer shot than that, as the two events are not independent. Given that one participant has a 9-high and has already sucked a bunch of low cards out of the deck, the likelihood of another player getting a 10-high would be significantly reduced.

... I got four to a straight flush five times in about a 2 hour session... the kicker was I looked at in order:
Joker-Jh-Qh-Ks-6c-10h-9 red --- diamond
So I played A6 top and K high straight on bottom. Dealer had like Q-10 top : 44679 bottom.
That's the thing about Pai Gow...
You can get say: 88 top and 333Q4 bottom .. dealer has Pai Gow...
But then.. you get: AJ top 55983 bottom.. dealer has AK top QQ224 bottom

I agree. And that is why I added that I had the 234 of hearts (the 6 don't matter because you can't have a 9 or 10 high Pai Gow with a 6 in your hand)

It took me a moment to wonder how can you get a 10 high in Pai Gow before I realized you're talking about PGP.

I was playing at a table yesterday where i saw two 10-high pai gows in the same hand. I thought that was rare hehe. Let alone the 9 high / 10 high that was mentioned.

Yes - very good point, an astute observation.
For two players' hands to be utterly lacking in any paint cards simultaneously, while not forming straights, is even rarer. Bravo.

I hope you had bet the Pai Gow Insurance/Protection bet.
It's THE crap-check bet for Pai Gow Poker!
