That jackpot should hit naturally, based on playing cards. I'm referring to slot machine jackpots, which are not easily quantifiable.

The must hit is not based on cards. It's the same as a slot must hit. All the other payouts for the game are based on cards.

How does that work for a table game? The screen just randomly says seat x wins?

Yes. I've seen it recently on a shuffle master progressive too. Doesn't Galaxy have a mystery progressive as well?

The progressive screen at all tables shows "Jackpot Pending" across the must hit amount and the players betting circle lights go around in a circle.

I wish it would do a little more, like more graphics on the screen or play a jackpot sound or song. Because the amount is not enough for any paperwork, we pay it out in about a minute, so most people hardly even notice the win, unless they are at the table that had it.

How does a table game must hit by select a winner? Is it more of a hot seat type of situation? Does a person whose betting $100 have a better chance of winning then someone betting $5 a hand? If so, I assume that's based on what you guys enter in the computer as their rating/ average bet size. At that point I'm still uncertain how it would pick a winner.
I can see if there's a side bet wager that's electronically logged how it would select someone.

It's just random for all active players of the bet. It doesn't know what each person is betting, only that someone placed a $5 progressive wager. Progressives are never tied into the player tracking system.

How have their slot games done?

I'm starting to see a number of AGS slots on the casino floors, but always wondered how they are doing.

I'm no expert on slots, but I believe they are fine on that side of things. They've been in the market long enough to have a heavy stream of lease income. On the Table Games side they've had huge expenses for the last 5 years or so and minimal impact on the floor, although it has been increasing I think. If they have and want to spend the cash for the first 10 years (5 more), they might end up ok.

AGS has gone up 13% since the initial BUY call. Stock market is a casino run by government.
