In european roulette, is the probability of red not appearing for 10 spins the same as 17 not appearing for 185 spins?
I ask this because on average the would both appear 5 times in that number of spins.

No. Not even close.Quote: DanthemanIn european roulette, is the probability of red not appearing for 10 spins the same as 17 not appearing for 185 spins?

Probability of red not showing in 1 spin = 19/37
Probability of red not showing in 10 spins = (19/37)^10 = 0.001275025 or roughly 1 in 784
Probability of 17 not appearing in 1 spin=36/37
Probability of 17 not appearing in 185 spins=(36/37)^185=0.006289899 or toughly 1 in 159
Interesting if you look at the probability of 17 showing or not showing in 37 spins
You'd expect to see it once on average
Probability of 17 not appearing in 1 spin=36/37
Probability of 17 not appearing in 37 spins=(36/37)^37=0.3629
Probability of 17 appearing at least once in 37 spins=1 - 0.3629 = 0.6371
Hmmmm.
Let's bet on 17 until it wins
Hell, lets just bet on 17 every spin forever.

Dan,
I've read back through all the threads you started, With a weak knowledge of probability and maths, you are scratching round for a progressive or streak dependent system that will give you the road to easy riches.
Stop. There isn't one.
No. REALLY. STOP.
Or, if you want to go the way of a few idiots, take your fortune to the casinos with your system of choice. But, you have been warned.
Psalm 25:16
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.
Proverbs 18:2
A fool finds no satisfaction in trying to understand, for he would rather express his own opinion.
