Is it statistically better to bet zero and double zero if you are betting on the column bets in roulette, since you will lose if either one comes up anyway?

I don't know if it is " statistically" better but I think you should disregard the zero /double zeros scenario . If you consider what n is "likely" to happen in the next 36 spins then you need only consider the likeliehood in 36 spins then factor in one loss in every 37 spins. In level stakes , anyway. Don't let them screw your mind up with "the Long Run" .It may never happen !

Or it may happen right a way. You may be the one who runs good for a long time or you may be the one who loses right away. But no matter what, if you play -ev games long enough.... you will lose or die trying.

Everyone can have fun talking about betting systems, how they work and the possibilities, this that and the other thing. Once you are at the tables making that big bet or the games turn hard on you.You will toss your systems out the window, because you will either run for the hills, or go on tilt and blow your wad.
