If I am not mistaken, Soopoo has a chance for a winning week. I have been so impressed with his terrible luck and I hate to see it end.

I picked TB Bucs last week and this week. No way can I pick any game involving Tampa Bay again this year until I absolutely understand what the heck is going on. I mean, are they the reincarnation of the 1919 Black Sox? or did someone forget to deflate Tom Brady's footballs?

The funny thing is that Brady isn't even that bad at what is arguably the worst we've ever seen him. Granted, he's only thrown for eight touchdowns in seven games, but he also only has one pick...so I think you'd take an 8:1 TD:INT ratio out of anyone.
On the other hand, his yards per attempt and adjusted yards per attempt are the worst we've seen since his first few years in the league, but even without Gronk, I think one could argue that his receiving corp is at least as good as back then, but probably still a little better.
This is just what Tom Brady being human looks like. He's still (believe it or not) sixth in total passing yards, Top 10 in most categories (among QB's with 500+ passing yards), at least Top 16 in all categories except yards per things, has the fewest interceptions out of any QB to have attempted a meaningful number of throws and is tenth in QB RATE amongst QB's to throw for more than 500 yards this season.
Basically, he's a good (but extremely safe with the ball, per usual) starting QB so far this year, but we're used to seeing greatness. That said, even with the extra game, he's still on pace to throw the fewest TD's in a season for his career only including seasons in which he played sixteen games.
So...what's the problem?
The ground attack has been terrible, so they can't really mix it up and open up too many big passing plays. The Buccaneers are third in the league in pass attempts, so Brady has to prioritize safety because the offense can't really mix up the play calling. The offense ranks either dead last or next to last in every rushing category. All plays considered, they average JUST over three yards per rushing attempt and the ground attack accounts for a paltry 64.4 yards per game.
With that, some of this statistical drop off is, pretty obviously, not even exclusively on Brady.

The previous week (another stunning loss by TB after pulling out to a large lead), the media reported a statement by a TB player to the effect that the TB team just lost their will to play in the latter part of that game. Huh?
Accepting everything posted about Brady, TB just seems to have a larger attitudinal problem. I suspect that many of their players aren't focused and giving 100% for some reason. (in agreement with Mission.)

I didn't watch the game, but I saw some of the highlights on the ESPN channel later, and if I remember correctly there were a few(?) "catchable### " (or better###) throws that were incomplete*** by the Bucs'.
###: By these I mean an "average NFL starting receiver" should have caught those 80%+ of the time.
***: For most teams I know this type of thing seems to happen at least once in every game.
Also, IMO I think I have only found "one good value line" to bet on for the Bucs' this season. Because of the "big name factor" the books' usually take 1 or more points off what they think the "fair line should be", when it is a "bigger name QB' vs a "closer to average QB".
Note: For the Panthers' game I thought the Bucs' should still have been a "fairly heavy favorite" (my estimate had them between a -8 and -7.5 fav').

After double-checking, I can confirm there are no picks for JW17 and he was sent a reminder.
I was initially worried because I had sent a reminder to someone who had already picked, which (because of the way I do reminders) had to mean someone who had yet to pick didn't receive one. However, JW17 was sent a reminder, which means the person who was mistakenly not sent one did make their picks, so the missed reminder is moot.

It's in the rules, but this is a good situation to remind everyone that reminders are a courtesy, not a guarantee.
That said, I do make an effort to make sure everyone who has not picked gets a reminder lest anyone be unfairly disadvantaged. I'll be more cautious in future weeks.
