Sometimes these things write themselves. Very gambling related, for those interested.

If this was Rodgers, Wilson, Mahomes etc this simply isn’t happening, zero chance regardless of their vax decision. I mean it’s the same reason Carolina moved on from him to a fringe starter who they moved on from after one season in Teddy two gloves Bridgewater. They gotta sensationalize it I suppose.
As I said in the blog piece, when I saw the second half of the Pat pre-season game, I figured they'd decided on Mac and were just letting him rack up some stats for the PR since Cam's stats weren't half bad. I will say this for Newton -- his accuracy has never been great, but these days he's almost always going to the proper receiver. He'll be around awhile.
Then what's the point?Quote: redietzNot sure what the link rules are, but my blog is not monetized in any way. No ads, no clicks do anything, I get nothing -- period.

I'm guessing you don't have many friends or family members who are cops, service members, teachers, ministers, professors, social workers, or artists. It must be interesting going through life trying to live A Fistful of Dollars without bullets. God bless you.

He's not those players. The decision wasn't "starter or cut", it was "backup or cut". He's more likely to have NFL covid protocols prevent him from attending practice or a game due to his unvaccinated status than a vaccinated player. A backup QB needs to be available. It's not unreasonable to think that he'd still be on the team if he was vaccinated.

Yeah, Cam would have finished the year as a backup.
I pretty much saw him as a start-until-you-lose-a-couple player this season. I suspect he would have started for three/four weeks, then handed over the reins depending on results. Even in that division, not likely the Pats win the division with a rookie QB trying to go 16 games, so I could see Newton the starter initially. Either Newton keeps them in division contention, or there's a switch. Cam was going to finish the year as a backup unless some miracle occurred.
Like I said, one thing that will keep him in the league is his choice of receivers, which is really spot on regardless of inaccuracy. Almost all of his errors are physical these days, not mental. Last season, he occasionally tried to jam a rocket ball into a 15-18 yard pattern with a tight window, and he's not accurate enough to do that regularly, but it's not so much that he misread the defense or was stubborn. He just had no other option, which (given the overall lousy Pat receiving corps) happened quite a bit.
Definitely not cops, however you'd be surprised at the quite diverse group of friends I do have, I can think of at least one or more in each category. I don't really take much stock in, nor am I impressed in one's job title, some of the dumbest or most screwed up people I have known had some special job title. Some of the smartest, most interesting(even a bit crazy), and best people I have known, are just regular Joes.Quote: redietzI'm guessing you don't have many friends or family members who are cops, service members, teachers, ministers, professors, social workers, or artists. While I have had a few friends who were ministers in the past, if I were to lend any merit to one's profession, I would add that to the very bottom of my list and I would put artists to the top.
I have no clue what "tying to live A Fistful of Dollars without bullets" even means, please explain.
While it seems that you used this as an opportunity to indicate/brag you have a group of friends and family that are well rounded and perhaps respected in their profession(you missed an opportunity and left out writers and authors), you really never did answer the question.

I have never had any passion for sports teams. I love sports and it consumes most of my free time, I just don't get loving and hating teams. I love sports, I will probably watch 10 games this weekend but I could care less who is playing. If you like football watch football. I don't care if Bishop Sycamore is playing or the Buffalo Bills. Football is Football, watch every second of it that you can.

You know, it is truly frightening if that actually went over Axel's head. He's gotta be pulling my leg. Jesus friggin' Christ. I was bragging about my friends? Axel, you might want to stop and think occasionally. Just a recommendation.
It was an opportunity for me to brag about my friends? LOL. Like I'm doing a knowing-a-cop brag? Holy Mother MaCree.
The point of the Fistful of Dollars reference was that the Clint character rides into town and all he cares about is making a fistful of dollars by setting the two gangs in town, who are also interested solely in fistfuls of dollars, against each other so he can reap the rewards. When Clint first enters the town, as the plot synopsis reads, everybody is either wealthy or dead. Your post "What's the point?" says your priorities are pretty much the same as the townsfolk and Clint. Except they had bullets.
You sound like one of those Ferengi from Star Trek. Maybe like a Ferengi who just got out of juvie.
You know what else is truly frightening? Axel's a lead WoV poster. God bless WoV.
And before I get some crap regarding insulting Axel, he insulted me twice before I wrote this. First, with his comment about what good is the blog if it doesn't make money. And second, when he can't get out of his own way and decided I was bragging about my friends.
Eat some blueberries, Axel. Rumor has it they boost IQ.

Thanks. I appreciate that. In case anybody's wondering, I had between 1K and 2K on TCU. That team looked, as my girlfriend said, like ninjas on defense. I think they would have beaten Oregon. Not sure if they would have beaten Auburn, but I liked their chances.
