WoV Playoff Picks Game 2015 (Official Thread)

Greetings!

It is my pleasure to announce that I will be hosting and sponsoring a 2015 WoV Playoff Picks Game for the 2015 NFL Playoffs!

The prize for this game will be $25.

Playoff Picks Game Rules

1.) Everyone is free to participate in the game simply by PMing me your Picks at, or prior to, 23:59 EST on Friday, January 2, 2015.

2.) Players who participated in the 2014 WoV Picks Game for the regular season will receive Invitation PM's, at some point in the next twelve hours, as well as reminder PM's within three hours (either way) of 23:00 EST on 1/1/2015.

3.) Players who did not participate in the WoV Picks Game, but PM me Picks for this game, will begin to receive reminder PM's as of the Divisional Round of the Playoffs.

4.) The objective of the game is to score the LOWEST number of points.

5.) Players will make three Picks every game consisting of the WINNER, the MARGIN OF VICTORY and the TOTAL POINTS SCORED for the game.

6.) If a player selects the WINNER correctly, but is incorrect about the margin of victory, then the player will receive points equal to the amount he/she was off on the margin of victory. For example, if you say the Steelers will win by three, and they win by five, you get two points.

7.) If a player is wrong about the WINNER, then the WINNING team's margin of victory will be added to the player's selection and doubled, and the player will score that amount of points. For example, if you say the Steelers win by three, and they lose by two, then you will score (3+2) * 2 = 10 Points

8.) Players shall also pick the TOTAL POINTS SCORED in the game, and will receive points based on how far off they are, in either direction.

9.) PERFECTION BONUS: If a player selects the WINNING team and the EXACT margin of victory correctly, that player will score -5 points for that Pick.

10.) PERFECTION BONUS 2: If a player selects the EXACT number of points scored correctly, that player will score -5 points for that Pick.

11.) TIEBREAKER: For the Super Bowl, in addition to making the PICKS, players will be PM'ed ten questions about the Super Bowl that will all be related to stats. Players will be awarded points based on incorrect answers to these questions. The answers will not be published unless there is actually a tie in the final score of the main Picks game.

12.) A player does not need to answer these questions in order to win, but will automatically lose in the event of a tie, if not.

I would like to congratulate AyeCarumba on winning the 2015 Playoff Picks Contest!!!

Given the strength of his total score pick (47) he scored five points there and got eighteen points for selecting SEA to win by five. His Optimal Strategy would have been to select one team or another to win by one, but that didn't matter, ultimately.

Since 23 points (165 + 23 = 188) is still less than all opponents had before this game even started, AyeCarumba is automatically the winner.
