Alright boys and girls, the first game of the year starts tonight. I'm going to track my picks here. I know 98% of posters don't care but for the few tha do this should be fun. I plan to post most of my picks in the a.m. but some days I won't have time to do any picks. All units Bets will be considered to be a $100 wager unless noted

Today's Picks:
Boston Red Sox 140 W
In the example above of one of today's picks, you would be betting 100 on Boston (who is the underdog in this game) in order to win 140. The other side in this game is the Toronto Blue Jays (who are the favorites in this game) and you would have to bet 150 on them in order to win 100.
The last character shown, the "W", is just the designation for what the random pick had chosen. In order words, Boston was chosen to win as a random pick. If there were an "L", then they would have been randomly chosen to lose.

The random pick is determined with Excel spreadsheet's random function.
The "X" is only appearing because I use it within the spreadsheet for filtering purposes. Just disregard it.
The +130 dogs are indeed the dogs that are picked that day and who are getting at least 130 with a win.
"Other dogs" would be dogs getting +129 or less on that day.
The random picks are only on games for which my formula has made a pick.

I haven't changed anything within the formula this year. I've been looking for a way to improve however. So this morning, with limited testing, I'm going to
publish a set of picks that may become a future subset, or even the only way to make picks.
In simple terms, I currently use a set of data to determine whether a team is playing well, and if they are, then I assume that it will continue. Or conversely, if a team is playing poorly then I assume that it will continue. What I've done this morning is to run Excel's regression analysis to predict today's stats. Doing so has given me 4 teams that fit both criteria.
They are:
Chicago Cubs 112 L
Oakland Athletics 105 L
St. Louis Cardinals -113 W
San Diego Padres 102 L
Also............I like the fact that Mr. Random dislikes 3 of them............Mrs. Random is going back to work........
