Recently I've noticed that some people would come and play $20 after someone has gotten up immediately after hitting a Must Hit progressive ($200, $500, $5000, $10k, etc).
Anyone have a guess as to why they do that?

Yes, because the machine is hot.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I played one of those machines with multiple free spin meters. The play took hours. After I was done and collected my free spins (modest payout) the meters were close to reset and a woman who was watching asked some questions. Yes, I keep playing the same denomination and don't bounce around. Oh, you play smart she says. I try to tell her that I play when the numbers on the meters get high (not mentioning AP or that there are calculations to figure out when, just that it's better when you get more free spins.) Seems like it goes right over her head. She sits down to repeat what I did, with the meters near reset, betting the same denomination and not jumping around, thinking it must be the smart way to play. I couldn't explain or witness and had to leave.

Now I've seen an ap spin 5 times after he's hit a progressive.
I can understand spin once at min bet so others don't know what #you hit at.
But spin 5 times at same bet?
