I have had a few instances where a slot host would personally come and greet me when I played with my friend's diamond card at CET properties in AC. Usually within 5 minutes of inserting the card a host would come around and introduce themselves.

Seems a little creepy that they monitor the play of Higher tier players so closely. Anyone else have this happen?

Yes, every time I would punch in at slots or table games a host would come see me within five minutes. This is when I was Seven Stars, and only at Horseshoe Cleveland. Some of the exchanges were pretty awkward (for the host). Sometimes I actually had something I needed, so it was helpful and it is kind of fun to get the VIP treatment no matter how modest you are.

I think it would be more awkward if you you were playing on your 'friends' card.

Some casinos do this as a security measure.
...to catch people doing other people's Free Play (FP).

There might be no limit to "mailer FP" at some CET properties.
Some casinos have "Tiers 1-6", "A-E", etc... so you can tell if you are receiving the maximum mailer.

Yes, I have had this happen, at both Bally's and Caesars. For some reason, not at Harrah's.

I was not only using someone else's card but it belonged to a female. At Bally's the person assumed it was my wife's card (should point out the host called this person after they left me and confirmed. Of course, even though this person was not my wife, they vouched for me as I always use cards with permission of the card holder).

At Caesars it was more hilarious. The name on the card was Sabrina. The host comes out and says, "Hi, you must be Mr. Sabrina. I'm such and such..." I just went along with it laughing inside. And no, the comps and card were never cut off. It's truly just the hosts trying to ingratiate themselves to their higher customers.

I do have a male friend named Wendy (he's from Haiti where Wendy is a male-accepted name) so perhaps they are trained not to make assumptions of gender specific names. John Wayne's real first name was Marian!!

One piece of advice, if you want to avoid the host welcome scenario there or just about any casino, play in the evenings. Almost all the hosts that would monitor a customer work the 9-5 shift in my experience. When I started playing late nights at Caesars and Bally's the hosts never came out.

This happened to me on my last stay at Caesars and the lady was pleasant to visit with.

They do this a lot at Harrahs KC and that tends to be slightly awkward because I don't really need to talk to a host there.
