This very long article provides a fascinating history of the development and impact of poker bots and AI software on online poker. Basically, the article depicts a situation in which online poker may decline into near extinction due to unbeatable poker bots developed by AI. The poker bots have such an edge over casual players and pros that actual human beings are losing money so quickly that they are apparently bailing out of online poker. This actually is defeating the poker bots who have no "fish" to win money from.

So many better men, a few of them friends, are dead. And a thousand thousand slimy things live on, and so do I.

I saw this. Crazy story. Pretty interesting. Does not give confidence to online poker players.
The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; but that is the way to bet.

My frriend former PRO-poker player for Poker Stars feedback to the article:
"I noticed the last time I played that the games on Bodog, which had previously been a gold mine, were infested with extremely tight players that I suspected were bots (playing around 10% of hands). I don't think these were super AI bots given these stats but the sites are not able to police this or don't care to. Between this and the rake at Canadian casinos being criminally high there isn't much of a future for poker in Canada.
I think online poker should be limited to microstakes by law and live poker establishments allowed to flourish as that is pure poker and guarantees no bots. It is simply too easy for gamblers to lose money quickly online gambling. I have quit poker to pursue other interests. I think in an ideal world gambling would exist but be completely edge free for the house and run on tips from players and high priced drinks."

I’d rather have to be a lucky player than good one.
