i love poker so much that i actually have found something that makes me hate poker

bounty tournaments

they suck

i dont know what else to do now that poker providers are constantly offering this horrible type of tournament

i only play tourneys i hate cash and now that these types of tourneys are taking over for some reason i dont want to play poker any more

i feel empty and want to want to play poker and i dont want to play poker when it comes to this crap

What fraction of the buy-ins are the bounties?

I realize that players call a short-stack's All-in simply to try to get a bounty. Is that what is bothering you? I imagine it is a popular rule variation with casinos because it accelerates the rate at which players get knocked out. Fewer players means fewer dealers, etc.

Poker with different rules is still poker; in the face of a rule variation I try to be adaptable and think through the new strategy.
So many better men, a few of them friends, are dead. And a thousand thousand slimy things live on, and so do I.

The lower the guarantee the worst it is imo for some reason
But

I hate it for those reasons lol

I am a donk myself and love action but it’s too much even for me you spend time building a stack and have to donk because of the bounties and it’s just not kosher imo

I played them pretty much the same as regular poker tournaments with the bounty just added in to the total pot for pot odds.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I couldn't resist chiming in on this thread. When it comes to poker, I'm right there with you—it's a total adrenaline rush! But as for the topic of online slots, it's a whole different ball game. There's something about the simplicity of spinning those reels that hits just right. It's a quick thrill, but it can't replace the strategic depth of poker.

That’s actually quite good for a soulless one.
The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; but that is the way to bet.

Now, back to the main event! Do you know that feeling when you’ve got a hand that you know is a winner, and the anticipation of showing it down is almost unbearable? That's what keeps me coming back to poker! There's nothing like the dance of calculating odds, reading your opponents, and making those daring bluffs.

Showing it down? Nobody says that
the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!”   She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder
