When discussing Omaha, you might, as a humorous aside, mention the best looking, but terrible, starting hand: Four Aces. I looks SO pretty, but it痴 only a single pair and impossible to improve.

Low-ball poker comes in two different variants.

Razz is seven-card stud where you attempt to make the low 5-card poker hand. You usually need to specify whether the lowest possible hand is the A-5 wheel or the non-suited 7-5432.

Low ball draw -with 3 draws -was the game played widely in California poker rooms in the 1980s. You are dealt 5 cards, you bet, then discard up to 3 cards (or 4 cards if you show you are keeping an ace) and draw new cards. A round of betting (and folding) then you draw a 2nd time and then a 3rd time. There is all types of strategy issues about what kinds of hand to stand pat with; and whether to continue to stand pat on a subsequent round if an opponent stands pat as well, etc. Low hands were judged without regard to suits and straights, A2345 was best low hand.

Mexican Poker is pretty common in Southern California casinos.

Flushes beat full houses because there are fewer flush opportunities.

We might be thinking of different versions. What are the rules in So Cal?

Also I recommend considering STRIP POKER as a video subject.

I've actually wondered about the rules for that. As I understand it, everybody antes a piece of clothing and one item is removed from the pot and the game. After that, I'm not sure. Do you bet clothing or is it simply the highest hand wins the antes after a game of five-card draw?

I could never muster the courage to even discuss the game in mixed company let alone make a video about it.

the way we used to play it was five card draw and the lowest hand removed an article of clothing.

Strip poker is a good one because the point is not to win any given hand necessarily. The point is usually to be successful foreplay, which in my experience means I致e tried to draw to a loser in some circumstances.
The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; but that is the way to bet.
