Yeah, I know. Nobody really cares about the fate of Maryland's Bingo Halls but for the fact that is the niche in which a famous Vegas Mogul got his start.
Some recent press indicates a 25 percent decline in tax revenue from Anne Arundel county Bingo Halls due to vast competition from lottery and casinos as well as internet gambling.
No one would really bother writing or reading the articles if it were not for the Steve Wynn angle.

I must have driven by Wayson's a million times, but nobody ever pointed it out to me or even mentioned the bingo parlors around there.

Waysons was actually ran by Steve Wynn prior to his dealings in Vegas. He was a really young guy at the time (and per my uncle's words, Wynn used to call bingo numbers there)

Back then some bingo joints had their stooges cheating for them. Just hand your card to a worker and have him read off winnings

Shed not for her
the bitter tear
Nor give the heart
to vain regret
Tis but the casket
that lies here,
The gem that filled it
