I was initially confused by the reference to baccarat since the baccarat scoring system is not used.

Agreed. Honestly, I feel like it's more similar to Faro than anything else, to the point where (if dealt from a single deck) it could conceivably be described as a Faro variant.

Neat looking game. But I think that I'd like it because of its similarity to Faro more than anything else. Well, that and the fact that the layout probably has a picture of a dragon on it. I have a very difficult time passing up any game with a dragon on the layout. (Might well be how I got into Sic bo.)

I noticed that from the bodog888.com, say you bet on "SMALL" for Dragon, and the card for Dragon is 5 and the card for Tiger is 8, then the winning hand is Tiger. You will lost your "SMALL" bet although the "5" is lower than 7 because Dragon is a losing hand !

For the above example, the "SMALL" only be paid if Dragon is a winning hand ! Am I correct ?

SUIT and SMALL/BIG only be paid for a winning hand ?

That doesn't sound right. A bet on a "small" dragon should have nothing to do with the tiger card. I would suggest writing to Bovada support about it.
It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet.

I have contacted the bodog casino, all side bet only be paid for the WINNING HAND ! The game details :-

Dragon Tiger Rules(https://ldcasino-webapp.bd-188.com/web/html/en_US/rules/index.html)

Objective

Dragon Tiger is loosely based on the game of Baccarat. The objective is for the player to guess whether the Dragon side or the Tiger side will draw a higher valued card (Ace being lowest and King being highest).

Rules

The aim of Dragon Tiger is to predict if the Dragon card or Tiger card will be higher in card rank. In rank of the card is determined by Ace being the lowest card followed by Two, then Three and so on up to the King. If both the Dragon and the Tiger have the same rank of card, then the result is a Tie.

Special Bets

Players can also place bets on the card that will be dealt for the side that they choose. Players can choose to bet on the suit, value or color of the card with payouts specified in section below. All special bets automatically lose if the 7 card is drawn on side the of the player bet, no matter the result of the game. In the case of a Tie result where the card is not a 7, then these bets are refunded.

Payouts

Winning Wager Payout
Dragon (50% commission charged if result is Tie) 1-1
Tiger (50% commission charged if result is Tie) 1-1
Tie 8-1
Suit (this bet is refunded on Tie results but loses on any 7 card drawn) 3-1
Big/Small (this bet is refunded on Tie results but loses on any 7 card drawn) 1-1
Odd/Even (this bet is refunded on Tie results but loses on any 7 card drawn) 1-1

ONLY FOR WINNING WAGER ! Still beatable by counting ?

Hi James.
If side bets don't pay on losing hands I would never play small as you will rarely win, if you bet dragon and small, you gotta hope tiger gets less than 6 and dragon gets a 6, or 4&5etc. Doesn't seem like they have their system worked out properly. The big bet can still be counted though.

Hi Wizard.
I am looking at putting dragon tiger on our casino and I'm looking at the odds you give for red/black. Your site says they have exactly the same chance of coming yet when I work it out,I make it very slightly more chance of mixed colour coming. Let me explain how I got to this,I feel like I'm questioning my teacher, you're the expert and I feel scared but here goes. Haha
For opposite color there's 416/416 for first card times 415/208 for second card giving me every 1.995192 hands.
For same color there's 416/416 for first card times 416/207 for second card (since one card of same color already been dealt). That gives me every 2.004831 hands.
I must be wrong but I don't know math like you so I work things out the long way like this.

Or to put it another way:
Different colors is
(416/416)*(208/415)=0.501205%
Same color is
(416/416)*(207/415)=0.498795%
If I take into account the ties then I get the following:
Opposite color 46.3765432%
Same color 46.1535782%
Ties 7.4698795%
Total 100%
