I started listening to your radio show about 7 months ago. It is great. One issue, though. Can you talk to Bob about moving his microphone further away from his mouth? It picks up him moistening his mouth all the time. Before he speaks and during. It is getting hard to ignore. It is like listening to an old man smacking his lips and it is getting to the point that I am having a hard time listening to the show without cringing everytime he speaks.
I don't know how to post a .gif but if I did there is a funny clip from Family Guy that has Carter being an "old man moistening his mouth" that would fit perfectly here.
Other than that, great show and forum.
Some radio stations use mics that require the speaker to be close -- while others use mics that allow for speakers to be farther away. Some have "pop filters" or "wind screens" and some don't. I don't know what kind of set up you have there but some quick adjustments to mic placement or addition of filters would go a long way.
I can just picture Bob leaning in and being too close to the mic. Some "personalities" do that so they sound more "intimate" with the audience. But in this case, a few more inches would make me feel a bit more comfortable.
by the way, a good tip is to brush your teeth before going on the air. If you recently ate it causes extra saliva to build up which can produce a syrupy speech.

I don't know if this picture is representative of the typical distance Bob is from the mic, but it almost looks like he's about to pucker up and make that lip sound...
This picture comes from BobDancer.com's page about the radio show.
Just do what I did......and stop listening to the show. If Dancer leaves, I will return. The guy sucks.
a lozenge in his mouth to me. You can
hear him move it around when he's
talking. Doesn't he ever listen to his own
show?

You could get him one of those speech modifier things and make him sound like Darth Vader (with a cough drop)

Yep. That's what I thought.

I think you're getting the idea.. Sorry, I couldn't
resist..

That's the wrong kind of Mic for his skill set. Sorry.

Again? You really need a more productive hobby.
We've been making fun of Canadians in MI since
I was a kid. They do it a lot on How I Met Your
Mother, its hilarious. Ay?
Its the Red Wings, you see. And Canada is just across
the river. We love to make fun of them and its oh
so easy. So very many flaws..
You know you're Canadian when:
You understand most of the Canadian beer commercials.
You have more kilometres on your snowmobile than your car.
You have 4 seasons: Winter, Still Winter, Still Winter, and Almost Winter.

THAT made me laugh loud enough to wake my girl XD

Some people have made entire careers out of it. I have plenty of productive hobbies, a destructive one helps bring balance to my life.

I love living in the Canadian Rivera. We get about two days of snow per year (if that), we have :
Wet and cold, wet and getting warmer, sunny and might get wet, wet and getting colder.
Cold is a balmy 0-10 degrees C (32-48F American, as I recall).

the US.

Ask a Canadian in June what season it is and
he'll say 'almost winter'.

Depends on what part of Canada you are in. Near Atlantic Ocean, here is 6 C and sunny.

I spent alot of time near Wanakena, NY. The heart of the Adirondacks. An old timer there once told me they had "11 months of winter and one month of poor sledding!"

Another little known fact: Portland, Oregon is further north than every city on the US East Coast.

Hah ha. It wouldn't be so bad if it were only places outside of the U.S.

By how much? Have you ever been to any place in Ontario that is south of any point in California or a point in California that is north of any point in Canada? Have you ever met anyone who has done either?
I agree that it's an interesting bit of trivia, but there is hardly any territory involved here. (Note: I'm relying on Google Maps.) It appears that the northern border of California is very close to latitude 42° north. The farthest southern point I can find in Ontario is Pelee Island (population 171) in Lake Erie, which at its southern extremity reaches 41.725° north. There is also a small strip of the mainland just north of there that reaches barely below 42°N. My guess is that fewer than 500 Canadians live south of the northern California border and probably a similar number of Californians who live more than a mile north of the southern extremity of Ontario.
Interesting trivia anyway.

I've driven I-5 between San Francisco and Portland, so yes, I've been as far north in California as you can get.
Quote: thecesspitMost of where people in Canada live is south of London, England, and all the major cities are south of Edinburgh, Scotland. The Great White North isn't really that far north. Until you get to the really cold and remote parts.
Funny thing, I have actually been to the North Pole, well actually I was 10 nautical miles away from the north pole. I was also in a place called Longyearbyen (sounds made up I know :). We were there in the height of summer and it was about 35 degrees (farenheit). In fact it was so cold there were bloody reindeer walking around everywhere!!!

Another easy one, but what the hell? Maybe somebody hasn't heard. What is further west, the west tip of Virginia or Detroit MI?

Reno, Nevada is farther west than Los Angeles, California.
Only counting from the 180th meridian. Some of us start counting at the 0 meridian. At any rate, it's not much of anything more than an extremely remote island.Quote: IbeatyouracesPochnoi Point, Semisopochnoi Island, Alaska 51°57′42″N 179°46′23″E —easternmost point in all U.S. territory, by longitude
