The following is an idea for a hedged craps bet, playing both the light and dark sides. Yes hedging your bets can be looked at as a bad decision in the long run. However many DS players do see the benefit in sometimes betting on the light side, depending on how the texture of play has shown itself to be at any particular time and place
while playing.

Pretty much every weird strategy that can be thought of probably has been thought of and written about by someone within the craps strategy community. However, I do believe I did come up with a very unusual(and mathematically backwards) idea for a dark side shooter. The don't side of payouts for the 6/8 are higher than 4/10, where the inverse light side 4/10 pay more than the 6/8. Could there be a high variance strategy where you bet on the light side for 4/5/9/10 to some degree while betting against a 6/8 being thrown? A much more common hedge is the 6/7/8 type strategies that are placing the 6/8 for some amount, pressing them when they hit, while also still having a DP/DC bets out there to make more money on the 7 when it will come. In the past I've definitely used this to success, but I've also not particularly tracked it against the 4/10 either. I know I've definitely had mini streaks where I lay against 4 or 10 and get knocked off multiple times. It's going to happen the longer you play craps. The main point would be having a quicker way to recover, assuming variance doesn't send you down a short path of multiple hits against what you're betting on.

Does anyone have the statistics on a 6/7/8 strategy vs this bizarro 4/5/7/9/10 type of a strategy? Is the 6/7/8 just plain ol' superior, all things being equal?

Craps is a game of chance and therefore there is no strategy

You can alter the variance however you like via odds/come/dc bets while keeping the edge very low
It’s all about making that GTA

I don't need to study a system to know that buying and placing have much higher house edges than the line bets. They are at even more of a disadvantage to the odds bets.

If you are going to concoct some kind of betting system, why would you start with inferior bets to build your system?

Any bet can win. You could build your system around 'Any 7' if you don't believe in the math that says the line bets have the smallest house edge.

Comparing one bad betting system to another is just a way to distract you from the fact that the casino is winning all the chips in the long run with either system
Gambling is a math contest where the score is tracked in dollars. Try not to get a negative score.
