Quote: AhighI just played craps with Phil Ivy this morning.
What kind of bets was he making and how much?
Dark Sider?
Sorry, couldn't resist :-)~

jaja. They actually were asking the dealer if it was okay to turn over the dice after they had landed. Surprisingly they were allowed too.

Did you shoot?
Quote: petroglyphDid you shoot?
Here's one quote that was nice to hear after the first time I shot:
Quote: PhilHere's $100 for you not to shoot. Give the dice to him (Phil points to Ahigh)
The guy took the $100 (cash) from Phil and gave me the dice.
Phil's smallest chip on the table at this point was $5,000 of course, so $100 had to be cash. There was laughing.
We all had fun though. Thanks for everyone's interest and respect for Phil's privacy on the details.
Congrats by the way!!!
That's awesome you got to play with him. I'm sure it was fun. We don't need to know numbers, to respect the privacy, but can you simply share "up/down" status for both you and Mr. Ivey?
Quote: tringlomaneGlad to see Full Tilt money is going to good use...*rolls eyes*
I see him in the $111,111 high roller tourney just before I left. They had him in a far back corner table.

Yeah, I'm not going to do that unfortunately.
Quote: AhighYeah, I'm not going to do that unfortunately.
Meaning you both lost. If you had won Phil
Ivey money, we'd never hear the end of it.
You used to report the smallest win or loss
here, now you're a monk? Sure you are..

Well that was pretty hostile. This is a public internet site. It is perfectly reasonable to withhold your own financial details from the public, and prudent to withhold information about other people's finances.
Quote: surrender88sWell that was pretty hostile. .
Not hostile at all. I just wonder when
we're told who he's playing with, how
big the bet size was, that he was asked
to shoot, yet has to leave off the outcome.
I don't get it. I mean, why say anything
at all.

You go first,
Playing with Ivey is a win.
In my view, if I can't win money, bragging rights is a close second. : )
What would you rather have on your tombstone, either won some money or played with Phil Ivey? Me, I'd piss the money away, but being remembered by my peers as "that guy", well, that's hard to put a price on.

So just say that, then. Why include all the
other details and leave off the most
obvious one.

I hope you have something much better than "I played with Phil Ivey" on your tombstone!! Being "that guy" is fun, but it isn't like curing cancer or anything. I've been "that guy" to peers in some celebrity stuff...it is fleeting and better as a memory than something to memorialize!!

Excuse me please. Why is it that you, EvenBob, almost never if ever really talks about gambling? All you do is chastise others and poke fun at them? No disrespect meant. Thanks!

I ask EB about his roulette system and he never answers; that's just the way he is.
How is it that someone joins the board today and decides that it is time to criticize a member within the first ten posts?
It makes one wonder how long you will be a member...

I posited the question, " which would you prefer on your headstone" [A] I multiplied my buy in, in a crap game by x times or had a great time playing with a superstar gambler? Heck, the question could even be rhetorical, I was just having fun. : )
re tombstone,,I'm signed up with science care and they are supposedly going to take care of my remains when they are done, for no charge?
As far as "curing cancer", I am doing my part as a lab rat.
Also the title to the thread re;bucket list. That sounds like a great time, playing with a high roller. Ahigh isn't saying but he may have gotten on a monster roll? I hope so, he probably could use an uplift about now, as could we all. I can see where throwing a great roll for high stakes could segue nicely on my list.
In my bucket, I hope I make it back to getting certified in PPG? Right now, I'm in Alaska, checking off boxes.

I'm not sure what Bob meant but I am not insulted, I am pretty sure that was also not his intention. For the short time I have been here, Bob has my respect.

Should I be intimidated by him? I am merely asking questions and also reading and responding. I don't believe I insulted him at all. If he is the absolute authority on here and an idol to most, I assume I am missing the reason why. Again, all I read was his posts that he pokes fun and tries to walk on other members to belittle them.

I don't think he is an authority figure or an idol; I just find it interesting that so many brand new members have come in by calling out longstanding members recently. There is a pattern to it...one which the mods are keenly aware of and keep their finger on the triggers to take care of quickly when the issue is verified.
You'll likely break a rule in your next post...

LOL
I got my Full Tilt money (and had 99% of my money in Stars thank Jesus), but it was no thanks to him though. I am still shocked PokerStars bailed Full Tilt out and that's the only reason players got paid.

Doesn't surprise me. He's a ploppy.
As so many of the great poker players are. They just can't stick with what they are good at and instead lose at BJ, craps and sports.

If you were to take backers, sponsors, etc., out of the game and make them pay their own way, you'd never hear of these people anymore considering today's huge fields. These guys would go broke.

I'm talking about Ahigh here. Why
give us every detail of the encounter
except the obvious one. There is
nothing preventing him from saying
how Ivey did, he was in a public
place, anybody could report on what
they saw.
Quote: EvenBobanybody could report on what they saw.
Anybody could decline to do so, too.
I would never be so rude as to refuse to shake hands with Phil Ivey, but I'd sure count my fingers afterwards.

Were you wondering if maybe Ivey is a dice influencer?
Quote:Were you wondering if maybe Ivey is a dice influencer?
The fact that Phil Ivey does NOT concern himself at all with DI speaks volumes.
He seems to understand the nature of AP, and he is not reported to be a bone arranger when he goes to let it all out at the craps tables.
I was thinking along them lines as well.Quote: EvenBobNot hostile at all. I just wonder when

I think I would have to agree, if Ahigh won some money he would find a way to let us know without including if PI won or lost.
True, but Ahigh might not want to discussed details and have Ivey get upset and not want to ever shoot with Ahigh again.Quote: EvenBobQuote: EvenBobQuote: petroglyph

I'm wondering if Ivey knows about Ahigh and his craps accomplishments. Did Ahigh tell him about his DI exploits and all his special equipment dice caliper etc etc?
Obviously Ahigh can talk about that.
Was Ivey impressed with Ahighs shot at the end of the session.?
Was he looking forward to shooting with him again?
