As indicated "new to craps" - I have not played alot of craps ... but I plan to in the future.

A few trips to Vegas and a few cruises that have craps tables ove the past year and 1/2 since I learned how to play.

Last weekend I went on a 4 day cruise and saw what I thought were some great rolls.

Can you experienced players confirm it, or let me know what is a good and/or great roll.

5 different rolls over three days of playing that went more than 30 total rolls before seven-out.
The longest being 35 (by my wife) without even a seven during come-out rolls.

I did well on making money, but haven't played enough to know if that number of rolls is just good or considered really good.
Learned Craps in 2013 .... Developed and have a PATENT on Craps "Back On Bet" side bet ... Working on Craps game variations hope to have patents in 2018 - Second Chance Craps and Sub-Crap-tion ... A completely new dice game idea is next - D.. Dice D......

It doesn't matter how long a roll is; it matters how many of your bets hit.

I don't know of any way to "be on a roll" in craps ( your roll or some other player's roll) except by starting out on the line and taking the risk of Point/Seven-Out just like everyone else. You can be throwing numbers all night long but unless you are making come bets and place bets and pressing them all that will happen is someone goes down in the record books and the PassLine bet pays off.

If you are on the sidelines watching and suddenly become impressed by all the numbers but no sevens that are rolling, its still ""prime time"" for Seven to appear when you try to jump on their role a bit late.

No way to do else but pay your dues with those Point/SevenOut rolls and hope you are still in the game when it gets to be impressive.

Exactly... i once was tracking on the same day i met A-High and his Wife Kelly at the Sun Coast and i did not get in fully on this 69 roll. If only they had been 30 min late and i would of been in after 2 repeats with 2 CB and PB 6/8 LB strategy progressing up... WOW a 69 hand roll could have generated around $3-5k with a $300 buy in.

My Longest 57, 56,51,48, 47, 44, 43,42,41,40 and shitloads into the 30's....
Longest roll time wise, 1.5hrs.
Smallest buy in to biggest Color Up. start $75 and Color up $2400
Most points made, 5 pt fire and had 6th number (6) and did not Lay it for 1/3.... Bummer

These accomplishments don't mean squat if you sit and watch them go by.
Ive played with friends who know I'm a D.I and I had a 11,15,23,44 and a 11 hand roll. He profited $150.... me $4200... Same $300 buy in...
I'll never miss a Big Roll no mater if Im Playing one of my 6 Levels in Trend Setter or any other Methodology/Strategy etc as soon as i see 2 repeats within 9 rolls, Im into the come on auto pilot.
I let the repeating numbers get me on the winning bets and I personally prefer this over PB. yes I know its a contract bet, but I wanna be on auto pilot and want to focus on my next progression increase.

My only other alternative would be to use My Modified CB stately using same $ amy but us it as a PB and when it hits take it down as a CB and follow it to next number and increase it as a CB would have. Doing this is the only way to hammer a potential BIG roll assuring yourself you are getting on the numbers that are repeating..... My 3rd option is my 15,24,30,36 roll power press where i take a $64 across and go for a FULL power press trying to maximize all bets max press until i get to my bench marks (15,24,30,36) whatever I choose and how good I'm feeling especially if I'm doing it to my own roll....than i'll reduce after 24 rolls to $300 across and try and catch 15 more rolls from 4300 across while banking in the profit from $64 across for 24 straight Power press rolls.

sorry to Blab on and i realize i got off target a bit... Just trying to help here showing newbies how to maximize a rolls potential...

Your right about that ...
On one roll of 31, the 6 and 8 only hit about 5 times total (I only bet 6 & 8)
On my roll that beat the 31 by 1(32) ... the 6 and 8 hit 11 times and I was pressed up to $150 on each. Did good (even better was I did good on MY roll)
On my wifes 35 it was alot (6 or 7 I think) of 6s but only 2 8s.

I track rolls by putting chips in order in the chip rails (at the end of every good roll at the table they would look to me and ask "how many"?)

Bottom line ... we were up at the end of it all in 4 digits. FUN when you win !!!
