Buy the 4 or 10 for $15.
commission = $0.38

whats the house edge? ~0.83%?? (1/2 of 1.67% if vig = 5%)

Yeah, flip them a white for the commission and they'll give you... hmmm, what color are the 10 cent and penny chips again?

Discussions have been had about what is the best bet.

My vote for the single best bet on the felt is the vig on the four or ten.

This must be one of those Craps slot machines.
a $20 Buy the 4 or 10 is 1/21 (3/63) = 4.7619% with 5% paid up front
same bet with 5% paid on win only is 1/60 = 1.67%
so you would like vig on a win.

$0.38 / $45 = .84%
you are close
0.375 / $45 = 1/2 of 1.67%

if you do not have to round the vig amount (your example 2.5% of $15 = $.375)
it is just the vig% divided by 3 on a win only

example:
$20 Buy 10
5% vig on a win
HE = .05/3
see why that works for the Buy 4 or 10?
for the Buy 5 or 9 just divide the 5% by 2.5

Just to be different

Just off hand what is your vote on driving to the Land of Enchantment for that totally vig free BUY THE FOUR or BUY THE TEN bet? .
.
.
.
Reflect for a few moments upon some recent events in what one might term the Land of Disenchantment...the roadside frisks of motorists and the drug dog instigated anal probes and colonoscopies.
.
.
.
Now what is you vote on that New Mexico casino that offers a Buy the ten and Buy the four for free?

Is it really vig free or is it just vig on the win? I read somewhere they also pay triple on the field 2&12, but I so seldom put a chip there it's immaterial.
It's beautiful country and for me combining it with the monster balloon festival might be pretty cool. I like the balloon regatta's, and my wife crewed for a gondola from Az. At my level of play a free vig isn't enough incentive to go there, but I need a different casino. Most of the ones I've been going to in Laughlin the dealers constantly prying for tips is getting annoying.

Reflecting on being sodomized legally by the leo's is antithetical to everything I believe about freedom. Although I'm not paranoid about it, there's a possibility that k-9 might alert on my vehicle. I take urine analysis frequently and take a medication that gives false positives. I've already had my colonoscopy and I'm not do again for about 5 more years. I really dislike anything going up there without the doer at least buying me a few drinks first. [joke]

My take on that casino? I'm not sure but we drove through there a few years ago and don't know if I was in the right place but it was also a dry casino. Kinda strange going into a casino and nobody is drinking alcohol, maybe that's how they afford the free vig? Again New Mexico is beautiful and I really enjoy the hogon's and pottery and the SW motif. I don't know if your familiar with the territory but imo when cruising around it is best to keep your head on a swivel elst some nere do well might relieve you of your wallet and possibly more.

I was thinking rubbing a little weed on your pants driving around NM until you were violated could be a solid +ev play.

It wouldn't even have to be an illegal substance. If the dogs sniff opiates you only have to rub yourself with a bagel covered with poppy seeds.

On a state ferry the whole crew tested positive for opiates/heroin which is ludicrous. Sure enough somebody had gotten boxes of pastries before leaving port and everyone had at least one, turns out it was the seeds. Although eventually everyone was cleared there is still a mark on their permanent records, kind of an ugly thing to have on your file.

I'm sure there's an ev play there somewhere but don't skip any steps in the proper procedure. Also don't leave any digital footprint of your plan.

You could probably double your odds by running and then also sue for the stiches where the dog bit into your leg and ripped part of your calf off.

That is unless I misunderstood and what you were after in the first place was the probing? In which case just make a firearm statement at the airport while waiting for tsa agents to do their bit. There's a bunch of fun loving people.

It almost seems like too many people have watched Beavis and BH and everybody just goes immediately like a space alien for the butt.

Weed isn't illegal everywhere. Smelling of weed is illegal nowhere. Either the searches they are performing are legal or not. If not then that's where your +ev is. AP play or degenerate gamble??

Road trip anyone?

Weed is federally illegal everywhere. It's stupidly a class one narcotic. Poppy seeds on a donut are legal everywhere as are prescription meds.

Fyi, if you were seriously considering this, it will take at least two years to get to court. The best plays are made by the best informed.

I fought this once in Oregon in the 80's and had a half mil in the bag but I screwed up by not following proper procedure. I jumped one step and it was thrown out. You can't just hand it over to an attorney and not check to see if they cross every T and dot every I on time.

And like I said you can't have a digital finger print, everything will come out in court and whoever want's to try it needs a very clean criminal record.

A person probably couldn't do it in New York, they apparently can do pretty much whatever they want. Plan it like a jewelry heist with hidden cams and take a good ass kicking might help influence the jury.

Establish an abnormal fear of canines etc, beforehand. Like a good chess game, the results are already determined, just waiting for the opponent to make their move.

I'm not sure if I read that right. You had a half million dollars in cash in a bag in Oregon, were arrested for something, then brought a suit for some kind of violation of civil liberties? Is that about right? And then it was thrown out because you missed a small detail?

Sounds like a story you should tell...if you want.

No Aces, you didn't read that right at all or I didn't explain it so you would understand it.

I wasn't holding a bag, satchel, briefcase or any other kind of container holding cash, contraband or illegal substances.

I wasn't arrested, protested or detested.

It was a 4th amendment case. The state had been wanting to try the case and had been looking for a specific violation for what the attorney that sought me out said had been a year. They chose me because of an absolutely clean record and my constant involvement with charity work.

Unfortunately, I'm somewhat of an expert on the casinos in that area...

The Route 66 Casino is located about 10 miles west of ABQ, on IH 40. They offer a free buy bet on 4 and 10, paying double on the 2 and triple on the 12 in the field. Good dealers too. They make the game fun and most have a good sense of humor, including the boxmen (and ladies). The Santa Ana Star, located about twenty miles north just off of IH 27, offers the free buy bet on the 4 and 10 and also pays triple on the 2 and 12 in the field. My understanding is that that makes both the field and the 4 and 10 zero HE bets. I've read on here that the Sandia, just north of ABQ, offers the free buy bets on the 4 and 10, but there is a $20 minimum. I have yet to confirm this personally. I've had a dealer at the Route 66 tell me that all ABQ casinos offer the free buy bets on the 4 and the 10 (competition), but I have yet to personally confirm this at the Sandia or Isleta.

With regard to alcohol, you can buy and consume alcohol in the casinos there, just not on the floor. Restaurants and bars, adjacent to the casino floor, (depending on the casino) sell alcohol. Just can't play and consume alcohol at the same time (which seems kind of crazy to me). Prices at the bar seemed somewhat reasonable to me when I was in one a few months ago, although I did buy one imported beer inside the buffet room, for which they charged $4.75 (Ouch!). That's why I only bought one there. It's not like Nevada where you can gamble and drink (almost) for free.

The Land of Enchantment is, IMO, a very pretty place and I have mentioned numerous times to my wife, perhaps a place I would like to retire. It has everything from desert to mountain ranges, and the history and culture are fascinating. We have traveled to and through there dozens of times without any contact with LE agencies. Great place to get away to, IMO.

Good info, thanks.

Visiting the Santa Ana Star is kinda on my bucket list, albeit quite a ways down.

I agree New Mexico is beautiful. For me it's a great place to visit, but I'm not going to do cold anymore.

Understood! If you don't do cold anymore, then you will need to plan your "bucketlist" trip sometime during the months of May to September, in my experience. Even into the early weeks of October, you should be fine, so long as you are all right with the evening temps dipping into the 60s.

To clarify, the "free buy" bets result in an absolutely vig free payout - $5 on the 4 or 10 nets $10 payout if / when they hit. $10 buy on the 4 or 10 nets in $20, and so on.

Good luck, maybe we'll run across one another at a table there someday!
