Um...where? Anything around Ohio? What's the highest amount at any one casino? I could probably run that through for you, for a cut, if you're not going to be doing it anyway...

1225 at Horseshoe Cincy until end of month. 225 dollar coupons. I've probably thrown away 7-8k in free play as I haven't gambled in nearly 6 weeks. I'll get 4,000-5,000 free play coupons every month. Free trips, gifts, prizes, restaurants, parties....on and on. To date no mention of coke and hookers. I've never taken advantage of comps. I'll check my P.O. Box maybe once a week and it's stuffed full of promotional material. Free play at half a dozen Caesars properties.
I've lost big this year. Lost 9 of 10 trips. The bastards are hell-bent on getting every penny I have.....which is their job.

But even by admitting there MAY be a problem, note that it is because of other people, not when he is shooting.
So I think he is saying again, he wins when he shoots because he can control the dice, just not his betting on others.
So go out and play at 4AM when you have a table to yourself and break the casino. See it really is that simple when you control the way the dice land.

Congratulations on your decision. As a chief shop steward I have seen many lives destroyed by addictions. Everybody has at least one.
If you are lucky it is not a destructive one. I have seen people and families destroyed by addictions you would never think of.
Religion, love, sports, procrastination, etc. And of course the more popular ones, alcoholism, drugs, and gambling. Had a co-worker named Ivan A. Everybody loved Ivan. Ran the golf tournament at AT&T, lovely wife, 3 kids, just all around nice guys. I first knew he had a gambling problem when I picked him up at his side business, a car wash.
Realized later that was how he hid losses from his wife. He had emptied the dollar change machine to bet at the dog track that night.
He finally admitted to me he had a problem. We worked evening shift and on Wednesday's I would cover for him after 8 pm so he could go to GA meetings at his neighborhood church.
He actually went 3 or 4 times, then I found out he was playing poker while I was covering for him. That was the end of that. Less than a year later AT&T was closing the Denver office. You had 6 weeks that you could look for another job or decide to transfer
to another department. A sweet deal. Come to work in am, say you were looking for a job, and leave within an hour after showing up, come back before quitting time and tag up. No clock to punch, no papers to file, just do it.
But Ivan wanted that buy out money as he was pension eligible. This was 1999 and base pay for day shift was over $800. Somehow Ivan talked management ( I told you he was likeable ) into letting him go off payroll 4 weeks early. With $154,000, a full pension, and medical benefits.
His wife knew of his problems by then, made him put money aside for kids college funds, pay off mortage, left them with about 50K.
Ivan got part time job as a courier. Any guesses who always volunteered for runs to Blackhawk ? A year later he forged wifes named on college accounts. Then they got divorced. I saw him at Blackhawk in 2003, he was dating a BJ dealer. Same old Ivan, all smiles.
Was gonna look him up last visit to Denver. Too late, dead of a heart attack in 2008 at age 56.
Treetop, I wish you the best of luck. As you work in the horse racing industry ( I think ) the road ahead will not be easy.

You didn't mention the name of the person you are referring to, but I bet you I can guess. And he criticized me for trying to tell him I've seen it a thousands of times.
Hopefully he can stop himself. He's said multiple times he's going to stop giving information about his wins/losses and he can't do it for more than a few days in a row.

Yeah it's only a problem when you're losing. :)
Quote: WizardDo "sharp shooters" bet when recreational players are throwing the dice? Might they suffer through it, with small bets, in the same way a counter would bet small in negative counts, to not set off red flags?
The only thing I would say is if so, then the casino in question would actually believe that the person IS controlling the results of the throw and I believe we both know of very few, if any casinos that believe that.
I will drive down to Cincy and buy your coupons and player's card off of you for whatever price we can agree on.Quote: treetopbuddy1225 at Horseshoe Cincy until end of month. 225 dollar coupons. Quote: WizardDo "sharp shooters" bet when recreational players are throwing the dice? Might they suffer through it, with small bets, in the same way a counter would bet small in negative counts, to not set off red flags?
In my opinion, (and I am sure you will agree), any shooter is better off to bet only when he is shooting, because he will make fewer bets, risk less money (assuming he doesn't take the sum of what he would have bet on other shooters and add it to what he is betting on himself) and will lose less per hour. Of course, some people get bored just waiting around to shoot, so they won't do that.
Hopefully, Frank Scoblete will be around and will answer this question with surety and definitiveness, but I offer my following opinions.
1.) Ideally, the dice setter would only play if he were the only one at the table or if the only other people at the table were superior dice setters.
2.) If the dice setter has no choice but to play at a table with other players, and doesn't believe the house in question to be one who is, "Afraid," of dice setters, then the dice setter should ideally wait until it is his turn to shoot. Why make any negative expectation bets if you believe you have the edge on every bet that you do make?
3.) If the dice setter has no choice but to play at a table with other players, and does believe the house in question to be one who is, "Afraid," of dice setters, then the dice setter should ideally bet the minimum on other shooters, and then a little more on himself that he normally would to neutralize the -EV experienced by betting on other shooters. I doubt if this would raise any red flags, I've yet to see a full Craps Table in which there wasn't at least one player who made a larger line bet when he was shooting than when others were shooting.
I think it might be a bit different than Wonging-In and Blackjack. The Blackjack AP usually tries to do one thing or another to disguise the fact that he is back-counting, but there's really nothing the dice setter can do to disguise that he is just holding his spot at the table waiting for the dice.

In reality, we all know those comps to be worthless. No math can alter said fact, but most assuredly not the elementary likes of which helplessly abounds across this board. But, because you've openly admitted that gambling is a terrible waste of also time, the most appropriate course of action for you now would be to have your name taken off the casinos' mailing lists.
A couple of phone calls, then no more worries. It's that simple. Then, you are free to revisit this site as often as you please to continue to properly reinforce your newfound freedom. I highly recommend it. You'd be how surprised at how silly but desperate does everything here appear once you've committed yourself to good action. (Shackleford and his associates will of course continue to reel 'em in here in unprofessional fashion, but that will no longer be your own life's bane.)
I think that you will find yourself in the clear majority, not to mention in the ever growing crowd of persons who mistook themselves for enlightened only to discover that they were indeed like everyone else.

I'm the exact opposite in that I take advantage of every comp I can get! I try to work the system in order to maximize comps, free play, entries for drawings, etc. I figure it's the only way I can justify losing (or maybe I should say rationalize).

I'm wanting to scrub replays with this at home.
1. You need to find the root of the obsessiveness
2. Find the root cause of the compulsiveness
For me, gambling is about me winning money from the casino or sportsbook and nothing more. Why I don't gamble 2-3 times a week has to do with the rules at the casinos where I live. I really need the 20 bucks I could be sliding into a machine.
2. Find the root cause of the compulsiveness
If only addiction were that simple !
I guess it is up to me this time for a stinging insult!
Quote: BuzzardHey, we were always nice to Aaron.
I agree, it's when he's not nice to us that the trouble
starts. Telling me I'm always wrong, how crazy is that.
I gotta come up with something I can sucker him into that makes him feel as if he is equally suckering me into something.
This guy is a smart guy, so beating him is not going to be easy. But so far, he hasn't beat me yet.
My wife told me today not to start any new projects because she has umpteen projects lined up for me (like furniture and beds and crap that women care about).
I told her I am already in the middle of a project, but if she wanted me to put that project on pause, "okay" I said. Which really means, "okay I understand" not "okay I'm dropping everything I'm doing to do what you want me to do."
But at the very least, she's going to want money and stuff to do a bunch of furniture around the house. So that's my biggest setback I'm looking at going forwards.
Furniture, yay!!! :-( I already bought most of what I need for my latest project though, so it's just the time I need to finish things off really.
If there are any Las Vegas locals that are interested to work on these projects with me, let me know. You could maybe learn a few things if you're into technical stuff like cameras and programming, and wiring stuff up.
