Anyone have thoughts/suggestions on money management while playing pass & come bets (plus odds)? Going to vegas next month and just trying to get a handle on when I should/shouldn't lay a come bet and when I should/shouldn't pull odds off of it.
In general, I play the pass line plus odds, and two come bets plus odds, and just let it play out until a 7 roll. So if one of my come bets hits, I don't put another up until either the pass/point hits or everything sevens out.
I'm not trying to earn a living here. Just love the game and want to stay at the table as long as I can but still have enough going on to keep it exciting. In general this methodology has worked for me and I usually leave either a tad up or a tad down. Which is fine. Just trying to see if there are thoughts on it, or if I should lay more come bets so I have more points, etc.
Thanks in advance.

So I just had my first experience of playing 3 points at the same time via pass + 2 come bets. Odds on each. I would say given the variance, I would suggest 5-10 times the total action assuming 3 points + odds. I didn't feel comfortable at all with my ratio save for the low mins. See my latest trip posting.
$5 mins = $30 action of 3 points plus odds. 5 to 10 times this means $150 to $300 per session.
$10 mins = $60 action of 3 points plus odds. 5 to 10 times this means $300 to $600 per session.
I'm not a big gambler, and with a small buy-in, those 3 points can be brutal on a crappy shooter.

looks to me like your using your head.
The only thing i would add is waiting a couple of rolls before you bet anything on others.
The general thought is between 2-5 depending on who you talk to. Some DI's use the five
count which has worked for me, some dont bet at all on others. The fewer bets you make, the
less money you expose to the house advantage.
Your just trying to have fun and not get carried away, that is a good start and it appears
you can stick to your game plan.
Have fun and good luck

First, like you, I like to let the dice choose the numbers. So, I bet $10 PL 2x, 1 $10 Come 2x on a $5 table, $400 buy-in. $60/bet is a lot, but there it is. Well, to start to see how the table is going, I'll bet $5 PL, etc. I'm not sure re: more than 1 come bet. Yes, the more numbers up you have, better chances of winning, but at the same time, equal, if not more, chances for the 7 out.
When a come point wins, I make another come bet until 7 out. (I can't outguess the dice.) A good piece of advice is after a point is established, don't put odds on the PL right away. Make a come bet, instead. That way, if a 7 hits, the result is a push. Also, with only one come point, I have come odds off on come-out.
I'm incapable of doing any more than that, and this method, like all methods, has its ups & downs. Re: money management, I think it's more about reading the table, looking at your chips, win/loss limits, & deciding whether or not to walk. I don't think you can anticipate the dice on any one roll in the meantime, IMHO.

Penguini --- I'll take a different view here. I assume, you have no edge. The house has the edge on every bet you will make. Therefore, the more bets you make, the more negative your expectation. Think of it this way: Three bets equal three games against the house. One bet equals one game. One bet reduces your expected losses a lot.
So make one bet. Preferably a Pass or Come for a low amount and put up the most you can afford in odds. Leave it at that. The game will be a real up and down or down and up (or something) ride but you will be playing the best possible way. The rolls where your number or the seven doesn't show should just be ignored. Pretend that they never happened --- because they have no effect on the game you are playing. Your game will merely be your number versus the seven when the point cycle is on; or your desire for a seven or 11 when you first place your Pass or Come bet.
I would also use the 5-Count on all other rollers and that will reduce your exposure by 57 percent.
I'll top this off not by plugging one of my books but by offering you a free copy of "Casino Craps: Shoot to Win!" Just email me your address and I will mail out a copy to you.

This is addressed to Penguini only?
