Isn't the "C" of a "C and E" bet the same as an "Any Craps" ?
If so, why have two locations for the same bet ?

You need to spend time in the craps section of Wizard of Odds. Link at botom. See you in a week. Answer: why not?

Headed that way. So much to learn.
I guess the answer is the same for why there is big red 7 above the world bet as well as a seven (any seven) in the middle of the prop bet area ?
For a game that has such limited "real estate", it sure seems like a waste to me.

I don't make those bets but the "E" stands for the "yo" bet [that eleven will be next, a one roll bet]. A lot of players like the combined bet, enough to section it off. The combined bet pays differently depending on what has won [I think]. In any case it is not the same bet as "any craps"
I'm not sure about what the dealer is supposed to do with a $1 bet, how to place the chip. I seem to see them place chips only on the c or the e sometimes. Like I say, don't make these bets, but I hear plenty of "c and e" bets called out.

Yeah, the "C" is the same as the any craps. And the "E" is the same as the 6-5 box.
Note that the size of the boxes is closely correlated to number of people who simultaneously bet it. Some of those prop bets can only hold 2 chips. Some, like the hard ways, can hold 16.
The C & E spots just make things easier since it's a popular bet on the come out roll, and sometimes it's a split bet.

NO!
The minimum is $1 for either. So $2 minimum for the C&E bet.
