$10min, 3/4/5x odds
Depending on my mood, i play either:
- $10 Pass/Continuous Come + max odds
- Single $25 Don't Pass with $150 odds
given just these 2 choices, i'm thinking Pass/Continuous Come is slightly better.
- After the point is established, your Come bet essentially pays for the Passline's flat bet when the 7 hits.
Theory:
Your Passline bet has (basically) 0% House Edge and is just all odds bet because the flat bet is paid for by the Come bet when the 7 hits.
At 3/4/5x odds, the HE is .374% no matter how many #s you have.
But if the Passline is 0% HE, then the overall HE is lower.
Lets say you have $ on all 6 #'s. so it'll be (0% + .374% + .374% + .374% + .374% + .374%)/6 = .31% HE
If you have 5 #'s: .3% HE
4 #s: .281%
But Don't Pass has a HE of .281% as well.
so mathematically, Pass/Continuous Come is better if you have 3 or less #s. (ie: short rolls, or you just keep hitting the same 3 #s).
I'm assuming there's a hole in my theory since someone smarter than me (ie: Wiz) would have thought of this already.
So where's my logic fallacy?

I'm trying to figure out how you arrived at this statement. The flat bet is only paid for by the final Come bet.

hm.. so only the final roll will have a lower HE?
ahh.. there's my logic hole?

Well, if it's a quick Point-Seven Out, the only loss is the free odds bet, so I guess you can say it's zero in that case. *shrug*

I would suggest a single $25 DC with appropriate odds as an alternate strategy.
7-out, line away, pay the don't.

That was a great board back in its time.

i dont understand the article. what is he pressing? the flat bet or the odds?
and what does that have to do w/my OP about Passline has 0% HE because the Come bet pays for the Passline bet when the 7 hits?

I sometimes play repeated Come - it has the advantage of losing less if you get a quick 7 while still collecting money on a long run (but not as much as pushing place bets). Don't forget that the bet wins on 11s but loses on 2/3/12s so quite often you have to throw in fresh money, even if you have a full house. Another problem is it costs you money to set up the come bets, so if few actually pay out before the 7 - you lose. Another way is (say at a £3 table) you place £15 across and a £3 Come - then down with odds (UK pays fractions).
Making one big bet - or even just Pass with Odds can miss a good run. Obviously the less you actually bet (i.e. $25 vs $10x6) is likely to lose less in the long term.

Press the odds.
I posted it as it is a system of nonstop come betting, akin to what you mentioned.
