Using free bet chips

I have $265 of free bets to make today, Saturday, at Rincon, and I thought about using them (ten $25 chips, two $5 chips) only on the Hard 6. I would play each chip till it wins or loses.

I would have ten $25 hardway bets and one $15 hardway bet.

The payouts would be in real chips that I can cash out.

Is there an expected value, or what I might bring home from the casino as a result of this play?

Is this Free Play, or is it Match Play?

Free Play is best used on low HE just like real money, unless I am very much mistaken.

Match play depends on if it is restricted to even money bets or not. Usually it is, so the Don't Pass in Craps or Banker in Baccarat is the way to go.

this is Free Play and I can use it anyway I want to. Of course I could use it making passline bets or place bets or even for odds, but this free play isn't restricted to only even money bets as most free play is, so I thought I might use it for something with some "gusto" such as hardways.

Most free play chips for table games are limited to even money so you are stuck using them for the passline or come bets. This is a one time different thing. I also have the option of using the money for video poker or slots but was thinking about trying my luck at hardways.

Edit: After more pondering, I think I had this wrong. It should be the odds on the bet resolved.

I reckon it's the binomial distribution with 11 trials and a 11% chance of success. If the true odds were 1 in 36, it ought to pay more than 9 to 1.

Since you are far more likely to only win once (if at all, that is), you ought to put $10 of your own with the $15 free bet.

It would be really annoying if that is the one and only winner. Either that or wait for one win and then add your own $10 to the $15.

re-reading the WoO link, and my own experience, if it is true free play, it would seem you treat it like your own money, except you have to play it ... not just cash it.

If you want the thrill of placing a hardway, well, of course that is up to you, but the fact it is free play would not seem to be a factor.

Don't take the free play at Rincon in the form of chips for table games, because they take the chips away whether you win or lose. That's right. Even when you win, they take away the free-play chip. Dr. Mike and I have mentioned this several times on our podcast, and we even tried to persuade them to change their policy, but with no luck.

Always take the Rincon free play in the form of slot/video poker vouchers. That way your expected return is equal to the payback of the machine you're playing. If you use the free play for table games, your expected return is equal to only 50% of the payback of the bet you're making.

I went there last night and discovered that it was actually cash... green money. I misinterpreted the description given to me earlier that it was free play that could be used for any bet. Cash can be used for any bet, obviously.

Last night i was at the court house in another county at 4 and decided to run over to a tribal casino with a nice table.
I got there and they did not open the darn thing until 6. I did not have much money with me and lost most of that
at a slot i got pissed at.

They opened the table and all i had is $100 left so said i will be right back i need to get some money. Pit boss
said wait i can help...i said its ok i have money, no he i want to , just give me your card. so i did and
he gave it back and said there is $250 on there for you and $50 in free play chips. Sio i got the $250 in
cash and the chips, Said thank you,,, they said we appreciate you being here and the tips you give the
crew.

Cant say i played well.. but i thought that was a decent gesture.

Does this imply that the freeplay money is not taken regardless of outcome as it is on the tables?
Do you only have to play the original $265 through once to cash out with your highest theoretical return? I would think that as long as you have free play still in the machine, it would increase your EV to play this money as much as possible to get the most of it.

Your implication is that the free bets are 100% worthless, IE: nothing.

You're wrong.

The best bets with chips that play the same as money are the exact same bets as you would make with real money.

I don't know about the promo chips at Rincon, but in this case for me it was $265 cash: two Franklins, three Jacksons and a Lincoln that they gave me at the promotions desk. They went into my pocket. I had another $145 of free play that I used on video poker.
