Quote: sodawaterI bet Stanford Wong wishes everyone would forget this video ever existed.
Very entertaining if you ask me, but I suspect it's pretty close to pure fiction.
It should come with a warning? "Do Not Swallow Whole"
For Wong and dice control, there was the old Wong, Believer, and the new Wong, Waffling a bit.
Quote: onenickelmiracleNow I know he isn't Asian like I guessed. I don't understand how they could get so lucky and be able to travel to so many casinos if they didn't have an edge. Or is that supposed to be the fiction?
yup
I think he chose his online name on purpose to disguise himself from the suits in the casino?

yup -- we call him the Fake Asian in Vegas ....respect him as a Financial Adviser and BJ man, but I have played on too many craps tables with him and seen him lose too many times to know that his craps advise (betting and tossing) must be taken with a few grains of salt
100xOdds ... I like your signature !! ... I officially live in Paradise, Nevada
Quote: IbeatyouracesI don't think you'll find that many asians with the first name of Stanford.
You probably won't find many of any nationality with the first name Stanford. Makes the name more memorable I think with the almost automatic recognition of the strangeness between the first and last name.
Quote: AhighIf I had a pen name it would be Harlem Jefferson and all my books would be on cassette tape. I think there is a under-served market out there for how to play craps. Nobody is telling you how to bet the hi-lo!

Wow, the actors they got to play Dominator and Pawlicki are really bad, not just in their acting ability but also in any kind of vague resemblance. They couldn't have gotten that guy to wear some glasses and grow the same facial hair at least?
The acting and production is pretty terrible all around. The opening scene with the back-and-forth with the stick man - really? Also when they go to the casino for the first time (about 17:30) and the narrator says that Pawlicki and his partner pass the dice so that Dom can shoot again - never mind the rest of the people at the table, haha.
Oh man, this just gets better and better (and by that I mean worse and worse). Around 22:40.
Dom: "YES!!" *pumps fist*
Jerry Patterson: shakes head with disapproval
Dom: <deadpan> "I mean yes."
I'm barely halfway through but I have to finish this.
Quote: AcesAndEightsI'm barely halfway through but I have to finish this.
Just generally, the portrayal of the various crews as such meanies [like it was *their* money] is pretty funny; the lousy acting by same said crews adds some laughs too
I was disappointed that Chris Pawlicki's name was misspelled. Check the "super" when he is interviewed.
That point alone proves it was a low budget production.
Quote: AlanMendelsonDon't be too hard on the production, this is done for mainstream TV audiences.

Also, watch the credits where the show the actors who played the 3 main characters - they reverse the names of actor/character for Scoblete; it reads that Scoblete was playing someone in the show. Real low-budget indeed.
Quote: Gabes22These "Breaking Vegas" shows aired I want to say in 2005 and there were 5-6 of them. Most of them were pretty bad.
I was wondering if they were all this bad...
Quote: AcesAndEightsI was wondering if they were all this bad...
I'd say some were really pretty good, if only because they were relating a good story in the episode. And I would say some productions were better than this one. And it must be admitted all episodes had an knack for dramatization. I hadn't seen this episode, I wonder if there were others I missed.

Some were just awful, like the one where people were past posting bets and stuff. My favorite one was about the guy who was able to gaffe slot machines by betting in a particular sequence.A flute with no holes is not a flute, a donut with no holes is a danish
But i have a question..... any of you hot shots on here ever played with Frank or Dom.... or even spoken with them to see what there
approach really is. ??????????????????
I didn't think so

Frank twice, Dom 4 times and the guy they kicked out of GTC who is better than both of them - Howard Rock 'n Roller at least a couple of dozen times and broken bread with him and his wife several times .... see here for one accounting with Frank and Dom https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/craps/13188-2-tales-of-the-same-event-ruined-by-biased-dice/#post224443
I would imagine they have had lots of losing sessions, and lots of winning sessions.... If you know as much about dice control as you seem to attest to than you should know that even the best stink from time to time and even the best look awful if they dont practice.
Now i dont know the habits of Frank or Dom or this Howard.... but i would be willing to wager you give any of them
a week or more where they are working or doing others things and place them on a table, there is a very good chance
they will look awful and their throw will look awful...
You and i both have seen every professional in every sport suck from time to time.... that means a good craps
player does not have that potential. ????
I am not making any excuses for them... i have no dog in this fight, i am just wondering if you are suggesting that
Dom, Frank or Stickman are not any good at this, and never were any good, and all the talk about what they
have accomplised at the table over time is false.

Shut the fuck up Donny!
Thnak you for that answer, it was reasonable and rare for this board. That is the point that i
have been trying to get across since i have been on this board, perfection is not possible, and you
can have enough influence on the dice to make money even though you cant pick up the dice
and throw any number you want.
As far as Dom on that video calling his number...... hell we have all done that, ramdom throwers
and dicesitters alike....... its fun...its also alot of luck. Showing off i think is part of life, now for me
i am a quiet guy, i have had very longs rolls many times and you hardly know i am at the table. But
still you feel a little special when everyone is cheering... until your next 4 7outs in a row.
heading for the table tonight, got a chance to practice last night. hope that helpes
