I wouldn't classify that as Electronic Craps.
It's just a regular craps table, with regular 3/4" dice and a dealer, but an electronic user panel to make and track bets.
Quote: wrongwayIf anyone enjoyed playing on the craps table at Bill's like we did, it's now at the Quad. It was not up and running last night but they said it would be soon.
Oh, good! I do like it. Enough even to visit the Dump ;)

Actually some nice changes to the casino.

I didn't know the game had a name. You are correct it is the Rapid Craps game.
Oh good. The novelty of it will probably bring players. It still has a live dealer but it also has electronic betting and electronic payoffs... best of both worlds.Quote: DJTeddyBearIt's just a regular craps table, with regular 3/4" dice and a dealer, but an electronic user panel to make and track bets.

Perfect! That's better than visiting the Dump ;)
And a good excuse to go window-shopping at the Miracle Mile, too.

Quote: Beethoven9thWhere is it located? I don't recall seeing one there, although it's been a while since I visited.
It's not at PH. I think the way I described it has gotten it confused with the bubble Shoot To Win game. It's only at the Quad and it's just like DJTEDDYBEAR
Described it.
So:
"Electronic" Craps: fully automated game with a slot for your players card. Dice are in a bubble and you "shoot" by pressing a button.
Rapid Craps: Semi-automated game, no slot for players card. You shoot the dice as in a regular craps table (excep there are no obstacles). The dealer inputs the roll and the system does the rest. You bet on a touch screen, and you can tip the delaers as well. you get paid in chips when you color up.
Quote: sicklernI see this thread is 7 months old, but I am curious to know if anyone can confirm that Rapid Craps that was at Bill's is actually at the Quad. Talked to someone with Harrah's and they only said "if it isn't listed online, then we don't have it". The game is not listed online.
I'll go and find out next chance I get for you. I doubt it. That game is called "snail craps" by the dealers as it moves at a snail's pace (and generally doesn't earn).
Fleas use the game for free drinks is about it's main purpose. If you do want to shoot into an empty tub, it's a unique opportunity, however. But you really have to bend over to shoot and it's not natural at all.

Thanks, we are going to Vegas in mid-November and just learned that Bill's was under renovation/renaming. We have always enjoyed ourselves at that table; would play from noon to 9pm for three days straight and by the end of the night everyone at the table had a nickname and the same faces seemed to show back up.

It is a remarkably good deal for the player if you're not disappointed with the unusual shooting positions or the speed at which the game goes.
I don't use this kind of tactic to get free drinks because I play enough anyways and always tip the waitressesQuote: AhighI'll go and find out next chance I get for you. I doubt it. That game is called "snail craps" by the dealers as it moves at a snail's pace (and generally doesn't earn).

I HAVE been upset that the cocktail waitresses were coming around so slowly, a 90 pound teenager couldn't get a buzz. So i walk up to the bar put in a $20 play 3 hands, tip and leave. One advantage to ticket in ticket out.
I just cant stand the term FLEAS used when describing people who don't want to pay $10 bucks a drink. To each his or her own.
A high roller craps player may consider you a FLEA.

Hey, I absolutely resemble that remark! Ask any dealer who deals to me!
Quote: AhighIt is a remarkably good deal for the player if you're not disappointed with the unusual shooting positions or the speed at which the game goes.
Yes, the shooting positions can be difficult at the middle positions, but we usually opened the table up and would sit at the turns and had no problems throwing the dice. The speed is definitely slower during the day as most first-timers tend to show up, but at night the speed is good, especially when large payouts are done automatically. I also like the roll counter and number frequency display; makes it easier to start betting on a double 6 when one hasn't shown up for 200 rolls - if you're a statistics believer.
I thank you in advance for checking to see if it is indeed at the The Quad.

I agree...hearing the totals that bartenders announce to non-gamblers borders on ridiculous. On my May trip, I remember hearing a $57 total for 4 drinks at Mandalay Bay. The guy was in shock while I drank my comped Lagunitas IPA playing $1 blackjack. Not surprisingly, I was pretty shocked that dj was still max betting for our drinks unless he was trying to stay on MGM's radar. Even with the nearly double royal flush that game wasn't that good before bounceback (hopefully a bunch of bounceback since the best game was 96.18% before the progressive). When I played at the same bar in May, I was getting the same drinks for one quarter at a time (although it was after 3am). And while min betting I made a "better than a Royal hit"... :D
I have only been asked to bet more than minimum at the bar once (Aria). And given most Strip bar paytables, min betting loses you less per hour. If bounceback changes this drastically (which I don't know), then I may change my ways.
You lose very little EV playing a few extra hands max bet considering the Cost of drinks. Sometimes Even AP's gamble a bit. DO you play craps ever?Quote: tringlomaneI agree...hearing the totals that bartenders announce to non-gamblers borders on ridiculous. Go visit A.J. at the Silverton. He was whining like a little girl tonight that nobody was tipping. It was almost like he was ready to get fired.
Quote: sicklernHoly thread crap, checking to see if Rapid Craps is at The Quad results in all sorts of tangent touchy subject responses. Can anyone confirm if Rapid Craps is at The Quad?
I said I would do it, but I can't get to it tonight! I have only been the to Quad once, and it was called The Emperial Palace back then.
Shoot To Win is ALL OVER TOWN of course if you can adapt to that.

By any chance, is A.J. a younger guy with dark hair?
Quote: Beethoven9thBy any chance, is A.J. a younger guy with dark hair?
Dark hair describes almost all of the dealers. A.J. is probably 50 years old at least. But he has dark hair.
The way you know it's A.J. is that he is constantly shaking his head no. And if he laughs, it's because something bad happened to somebody.
Also, when he walks, his head moves like a Pigeon.
LOL!!Quote: AhighThe way you know it's A.J. is that he is constantly shaking his head no. And if he laughs, it's because something bad happened to somebody.

Not to hijack the thread, but is there a reason why you play at the Silverton so often? The few times I've been there, the dealers seemed like real duds. They weren't necessarily jerks or anything, but they all acted like they were stuck doing community service or something. (haha)
I do remember one guy with glasses who was pretty friendly, but that's about it.
Quote: AxelWolfYou lose very little EV playing a few extra hands max bet considering the Cost of drinks. Sometimes Even AP's gamble a bit. DO you play craps ever?
If I grab a drink and move to another machine in a few hands like you suggested earlier, sure. But I would need to move fast because that Mirage jackpot required a whopping ten coins too. If I play a leisurely 400 hands/hr, the game with snapshot I took cost $36.10 an hour max betting before comps at that jackpot value. It was costing dj over $30/hr even with a double royal at that pace since he loves deuces. If I bet one credit, it costs only $5.52/hr for the game above. A little more than $30/hr is nothing to sneeze at to me when I get the same level of service. I can easily drink back the value of the latter number, if I can do the former number...I need to go to AA first.
I have played craps before, but I really don't like the game because I typically don't throw come/place/buy bets all over the place. And at 3am, I would be at the whim of whatever cocktail waitresses were left. The bar NEVER gives you bad service (as long as you tip, obv). I was playing Geoff's "Free Bet Blackjack" heads up before hitting this for 15 minutes or so, and I decided to quit a small winner before the waitress ever asked me for a beer. I was BS'ing with the dealer at the time. She got me a beer anyway.

They have many G4 Islands setup here at the Casinos in Niagara Falls all brand new and many of the RNG's set to 50/50/50 very even money for many to take advantage if you're martingale players or streak players for roulette or Craps or SicBo, come one come all, these new machines are easy money for those interested. every history of the game shows 50/50 all the way. 2.00 minimums and other islands are 10.00 min with Single zero roulette and craps.

I saw it at the Quad last June. The only difference was the minimum bet had been raised from $3 to $5. That's why I didn't play it this time.

Alright, there ya go. I'm guessing it's still there. If I find myself on that side of town I'll check, otherwise it sounds like you have a confirmation.
Mind you, they are STILL remodeling. Scheduled to finish in January.
It's very possible that they keep moving it in and out....

I appreciated the drink. Also drinks like coke will cost you too anyway since they don't allow self-serve soda like the Midwest. And I really hoped you would make that one 4 to a Royal.

Haha. I let it go myself because I couldn't think of a good joke to go with it.

Yes. They have those mini ~2 feet tall stools underneath the tables for the lazy schlubs to sit on.

I find that a good idea. For those of us with health problems such as bad backs and obesity let me just ask you to keep such labels to yourself or try them on the "street". I've never read of a craps table having stools under the table. I assume you are not posting about only electronic games?

Nope, they are the same regular craps tables you find just about anywhere else. I recently saw a couple tables in Tunica that had stools under them as well; can't remember which casinos had them though.

It's a great idea. Surprised Binions didn't have them back in the good old days of $1.usd min and 100 times odds, average player age about 70. Filled both Binions and when they took over the Mint. Must have been 25 tables between the two floors. Craps was big time back then. Stools would have extended lives.
I then asked a floorman in a pit towards the back of the casino the same question. He said rapid roulette may return when construction is complete, but laughed at rapid craps.
