It seems widely quoted that CSM blackjack has a lower house edge than normal shoe games, due to the cut card effect.
This is the case if the dealer reinserts the cards immediately after each round, or after a fixed number of rounds. However many casino don't follow this procedure.
For example, the dealer simply look at the discard tray, if there is about 1 deck out then the cards are put back, if not then continue play. That means more rounds are played when large cards have already come out, and less rounds are played when small cards have already come?

ah, never mind, I worked it out.
A dealer that returns cards to the CSM after one deck it out, is the same as a normal shoe game with poor penetration. That is:
A) normal 6 deck shoe game, with 1 deck cut from the back
B) csm game with 6 deck, return cards after each round
C) normal 6 deck shoe game, with 5 deck cut from the back === csm game with 6 deck, return cards after 1 deck out
