Early surrender disappeared because it was so valuable to the player(REDUCING HOUSE EDGE BY 0.63% ALLOWING YOU TO ENJOY ABOUT A 0.4% ADVANTAGE OVER THE HOUSE) that a basic strategy player had the edge over the casino by simply playing basic strategy. The player became the casino and the casino had to hope there was enough stupid players who deviate from basic strategy, making horrible plays to make up the expected losses to all the basic strategy players. Take every opportunity you have to reduce their advantage if you must gamble. Those of us old enough to remember early surrender have alot of expensive toys paid for by bets won that we knew had a positive expected return.
