Good evening everyone,
Tonight I saw that Bahama Bonus Blackjack (Spanish 21 clone) has the TriLux bet - but with a small difference; because there are no tens, 8-9-Jack and 9-Jack-Queen are valid straights or straight flushes.
I wrote a little JavaScript code to quickly find the TriLux bet house edges. In order to make the logic normal regarding straights, I decided to simulate it as if the decks were 3-A instead of 2-9/J-A.
I calculated how different the house edges of existing TriLux tables would be in a six Spanish 48-card decks.
Generally the house edge was about 0.2% lower than in blackjack.
(Trilux side bets have the format {Straight Flush, Three of a Kind, Straight, Flush})
{8, 8, 8, 8} = 12.13% House Edge
{25, 15, 8, 5} = 23.00% House Edge
{25, 15, 10, 5} = 17.40% House Edge
{9, 9, 9, 9} = 2.79% House Edge
Hope this information is useful to someone. Let me know if you want me to calculate it with a specific pay table or number of decks.
Happy 2nd night of Hanukkah,
Harris
