Reading between the lines, it is clear that the self-proclaimed king of zen (Ha! As if) is unhappy in Las Vegas.

I expect he'll soon return to the comforts of home in NJ, letting his mom cook, clean, and pamper him.

Nah. I think ZenKing just had a bit of a rough start in Vegas due to his paranoia, probably a bit of negative variance, and overall that caused him to play less. No one wants to put in the hours when they think the casino is cheating and are losing. The difference between the way "we" view ZK's cheating allegations is different than him, because to us it is, for lack of better words, pure absurdity, whereas to ZK it is (or was?) completely real.

I have confidence that ZK will be successful in the coming months and getting the hours in, putting his nose to the grindstone, as the Ancient Hawaiians used to say. That is, of course, on condition that ZK forgets about all this 'cheating' stuff and just goes out and does it. There are really only two options....1) Go out and play, whatever happens, happens. IF you fail, which you shouldn't, then tough luck, at least you gave it a good earnest effort. Or 2) Quit, which would be the only logical thing to do IF they're cheating. There is no in-between....you can't believe they are cheating AND play. As someone much more enlightened than I once said, "That's like hanging a chicken from your ballsack n walking over an alligator; you're just asking for it."

I think it should be called ZenKing's Dungeon, and not a corner. A corner is your think, plus a dungeon implies he is being punished, and implies he will also punish you with his thoughts,complaints, etc. It's true, because he also doesn't take much feedback and ignores the sensible advice. Come to think of it, you two are much alike, are you sure you're not ZK?

How about if someone claims they are cursed and continue to play games of chance? Do they only lose because the curse forces them to play? Or is any losing them being as stupid as someone who dangles their testicles over a very large and hungry reptile?

I wonder too. Some are as rich as the site's 'Articles', many of which we don't visit. But I concur that blogs don't seem very popular. IMHO, they are not very easy to read and the comment flow is pretty tricky.

Consciousness is discussed, as ZK has mentioned being trolled, for the purpose to be to experience our experience literally.
ZK might be trolled, but we all are. I don't find it worthwhile to continuously think about the illusion, but sometimes to attempt to lessen pain like he has. Trolled in another sense, not intentional and personal(though possible always), but in the manner we all exist to benefit someone else.

We all have our stories, cannot grade them until our chapters are finished and we cease to be written about.

I have no idea why this thread was bumped, even after reading Onenickel's post a few times, but it gave me the opportunity to look over a thread from during my hiatus. I'll say this. I wish there was a way for ZenKing to participate here. Despite his extreme paranoia, and pretty extreme venting when losing, he is actually a success story, near as I can tell from a far. He has been in Vegas for what 5 years? arrived with 50k bankroll. Supported himself for 5 years and last time I spoke with him on a forum he still had that bankroll. That means he is supporting himself via his winnings which is what he came to Vegas to do. :)

Now maybe there is an expectation problem, as in his expectation where too high. I can't say for sure because I don't know how much he plays (rounds per year). I'll just say again, for all the crap he takes, he has succeeded! And his venting is even useful to other players. He vents because he loses sometimes. Sometimes it is soo bad it 'seems' like you must be getting cheated. THAT is the way card counting works, so that venting is a good example of that for aspiring players.

I don't know how the deal works with assigning a member their own corner. has that possibility been looked into or are we beyond that? Just seems like there ought to be a way to have his experiences be beneficial to other members.

On the other hand, maybe he is better off the way things are. I am told he is doing well. If you are reading, continued success Zenking. And don't be so hard on yourself, allow yourself to see that you ARE succeeding.
