Longtime lurker, first-time poster. Will be in Vegas in a few weeks, staying at Aria. Looking for the best on-strip game (preferably near Aria) to grind it out, Hi-Lo, at a low-min game. $5 min would be ideal but $10 min can work too (just me or are legit $5 min games few and far between on the strip nowadays?).
I've reviewed the Blackjack survey closely but wanted some opinions - what casino near Aria would suit me best? Looking for a fast-paced game on a Friday (AM/afternoon/evening). Or, will I need to travel off-strip to find the type of game I'm looking for?
There are really very few, if any, low limit games left that aren't 6:5. I didn't scour every place, but the lowest I saw was weekday mid-afternoon $15 BJ that was still 3:2. You're more than likely going to need to go off strip to find better low limit rules/games.
Aria is usually a bit pricey in comparison to others. How are you staying there but don't have the bankroll to play $25 games (which will enable you to stay on the strip at least)?
Both of these games are off-strip but just barely (~$7 uber ride from Aria or ~45 minute walk).

It's been a few months since I've been to Las Vegas, but as Romes mentioned, almost all of the low-minimum games on the strip are 6:5. When I was last in Las Vegas, there were $15 (and sometimes a $10 table or two) 3:2 8-deck H17 LS games at Bally's and Paris. Treasure Island also had decent $15 games (but I wouldn't recommend camping out there...they can be extra sweaty, even by LV standards).
Also, I've played $10 H17 shoe games at the Tropicana. Also, Hooter's had $10 SD D10 (Reno rules).
If you want to venture down E. Flamingo Rd., Tuscany and Silver Sevens had $10 DD and $5 6D H17 games.
Of course, off the strip, you'll do much better as a low roller.
Theo - Palms and Gold Coast noted. Thank you.
Saul - Thank you - will add those to the mix.
Perhaps I was taking the wrong approach with the "don't go off-strip" mindset?? Some of the off-strip spots are actually closer to Aria than the north strip casinos -- seems well worth it to grab an uber for a game I'll be able to play more effectively.

From your original post, it looks like you were wanting to play blackjack one day of your trip. Check into renting a car for that day. I typically rent from the Enterprise in the Hilton on Flamingo Rd. If you're able to get a cheap one-day rental, you can hit the locals casinos on Boulder Hwy, etc.
There are lots of $10 DD games, and I do just fine spreading 1-6 or 1-8 playing short (unrated!) sessions. Once you show your max bet, cash out and head to the next casino.
Quote: billryanDoesn't the hole in the wall casino with the Outback in it next to Harrah's still offer 5-$10 3-2 games?
Casino Royale? I think so...last time I peeked, it was CSM, though.
Quote: billryanWhat about Ellis Island?
EI indeed deals $5 3:2 8D games (and serves pretty good beer). The penetration is positively abysmal. Last couple times I've peeked in there, they were cutting off 3-4 decks.
And I'm pretty sure there's no 3:2 BJ at Casino Royale.
The Wild Wild West might be an option. You'll love the Aria upon your return.
Quote: GreasyjohnUpdate: Tuscany no longer has a DD game, that's for sure.

Yup, pretty sure Casino Royale has gone to all carny type blackjack games. They still have good craps though

That's too bad. It's been about six months since I played their DD game, so I guess my info is stale.

Yeah, I was just there last week. And they used to have senior Thursdays where they'd give you $40 in chips with a $30 buy in. That's gone too.
And from what I observed their video poker offerings were mediocre.
$5 for a girl to strip?
$10 for bj?!
WHERE!!!!!
:)
If he actually goes to Wild wild west he might actually find both outside. That part of Tropicana from the The MGM up to New Orleans casino is the hooker corridor.Quote: 100xOddsjust drove by a sketchy area of town when I read the title "Best (fastest?) Strip $5 or $10 BJ"

I cancelled them, though I admit your post was hilarious. The nasty Feathered guy.

What does your hooker budget look like?
I got a friend who has a friend, so to speak.
All deleted ;-)

I needs me one of those really big and fancy refrigerators ;-!

Is the Orleans now the New Orleans? I mean, the Last Frontier became the New Frontier, which became the Frontier, then the New Frontier.
