That looks virus laden -- the "php" at the end of that link is no good. I recommend that no one click on the link and hope the MODS quickly remove his post.Quote: BigJer... index.php

What's wrong with .php?

Same here. I've seen sites before with it and they are totally safe.

Tell me if you do get a virus warning. I'll jump to fix it.
BTW I am an IT Consultant.

Those google results don't really do anything to support your previous post, which was kind of mysterious/unclear? But if you're implying that websites written in PHP are more likely to give you a virus, that's just nonsense.
PHP is a terrible programming language and anyone choosing to use it in today's tech landscape with all of the better options available to you (e.g. Rails, Django, f*** even something in Perl would be better) would need their head examined.
But there's nothing inherently virus-y about PHP. Hell, Mediawiki (which powers Wikipedia) is written in PHP.
Of course not. But, a barely adorned link to a php website is a trademark of a virus-y website. I get emails all the time with links to virus laden php websites. Bots post such links to message boards as spam, hijacking accounts to do so, while inserting randomly gathered text from the website. This site has already shown demonstrated vulnerability to bot spam.Quote: AcesAndEightsBut there's nothing inherently virus-y about PHP. Hell, Mediawiki (which powers Wikipedia) is written in PHP.

I hope you have a fun time with your new forum. It's bound to be a great success.

Are you implying because this forum is written in PHP, spam bots can get on this forum? Spam bots != viruses. If there are viruses, then yeah, that'd be a problem. Spam bots, at least in small quantity and if they're taken care of promptly, are not a problem...especially to the user.

I have not seen a correlation between virus-y websites and links to sites with php in them. But obviously I can't argue if you have seen that correlation.
Besides, it is almost impossible to get a virus with the simple act of visiting a website. Generally you need to download an executable file and run it, or install a browser extension, or do something you shouldn't be doing unless you trust the website to infect your PC.
That used to be true but not anymore:Quote: AcesAndEightsBesides, it is almost impossible to get a virus with the simple act of visiting a website.
