I am going to Vegas in January and was checking the BJ Survey to decide where to stay and it looks like all of the Caesars properties have low limit 3/2 BJ while all the MGM properties are 6/5. If I remember correctly it was the other way around a few years ago. Is it true that Caesars changed 6/5 table back to 3/2? If so it doesn't seem like anyone gives them much credit for going against the trend.

3/2? Hmmmm.... not at Harrahs from what I remember. I don't pay attention to BJ especially in Vegas but not all Caesars properties. I am surprised that Caesars offer it given their financial situation. MGM is on a stingy stickler tear with everything so not surprised they would pull something like this. Like all other Vegas establishments. Yet all these poor souls flock to these tables like bees to honey. Throw in some eye candy dealers and a so-called Pleasure Pit all common sense out the door!

I was in Vegas last July, all the CET props had 6/5 up to even a 25 min on some tables.

There are many BJ tables here in Vegas and they don't even display the payout numbers! How bout them apples! I am telling you the folks who flock to these tables don't even know they are being ripped off so dearly.

Caesars has much better blackjack than MGM now. You can get a $25 game in Bally's high limit with what used to be called "liberal strip rules" (LS DAS S17 RSA), and a $25 double deck 3-2 pitch game at Harrahs.

Decent low limit 3:2 games at Bally's-Paris-PHo

Isn't the Blackjack pay-out always printed on the felt ? ? ?

Gotta say SHAME SHAME SHAME on the Casinos then. And ditto for the Gaming Commission.

I have gravitated more to VP vs BJ over the years. Mrs Q has gravitated more toward Slots ( yeah, I know, SHAME SHAME SHAME ! ).

But it is, and probably always has been methinks, a big game, Player vs Casino regarding comps. Slots players get better comps. I get to play what I want. Mrs Q plays what she wants. But I keep a watchful eye on how much money Mrs. Q has to play with.

I believe if it's not on the felt they must have a sign below the table limits that says "Blackjack pays 6:5" or something. I don't think I can recall coming across a table that literally didn't have it displayed at all.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

I've seen plenty of tables in Vegas, particularly Caesars properties, where there is no felt making or sign on the table. And yes, this was while it was open and people playing.

If the sign is taped to the underside of the table where it can't be seen unless you fall on the floor in a drunken stupor.....well that's just wrong.....

I almost remember seeing that sign....

You might see huge words across on the felt that says: "Insurance Pays 2:1" or something like that. But not the 6:5. Sometimes even the 2:1 Insurance Payout is not even printed.

Yippee!!!! No worries. The casino makes up for it with pretty dealers with cleavage and a stripper pole!

Adding more insult to injury, Encore is getting its own pleasure pit as well officially opening in January!

I'll give MGM Detroit a little credit here. Their 6:5 "party pit" (which has nothing special in it) is only open on Friday and Saturday nights and every other hour for a full hour, they turn on these red bubble lights and at that time blackjack pays 3:2 and after splitting aces and receiving a 10 on any of them, they also are paid 3:2.

That limited 6:5 they are testing the waters. If that goes well see that 3:2 go bye bye too in the future. Well gotta look on the brightside. With all these people who doesn't know any better flocking to these tables, this keeps the casinos in business.

It's been status quo here for five years. They did go from 8 down to 6 decks though. Larger edge on the Perfect Pairs :-)

It is just evil that 6:5 is spreading outside of Vegas. Making matters worst is people going to them and some actually DEFENDING the numbers even when you show them what those numbers mean.

Some think 6:5 is a better and bigger payout than 3:2!

If this keeps going on I wonder how long before this country becomes a third world nation! Ha ha.

Oh it's worse than that. You can also bet less than the table minimum as low as $1 but then bj pays 1:1 and you have to pay a 25¢ ante. Now that's ridiculous. And people do this !!

People thinking they are playing $1... $2.... etc... what irks me now is you mention a $25 ante. That is a big chunk on their profits. That is not an ante. That is a "penalty tax." More like a punishment for playing "piker" stakes.

Can you just walk up to the table and get a seat during this hour or is it usually packed. Anyone done the math to see what this adds to the game, assuming the other rules are playable?
