So they're putting in a "you pick 'em" side bet table at my local casino. Apparently the game was the 2014 winner of the Raving Table Games Conference. Anyway, here's the gist -
"This side bet consists of three wagers the player can make in addition to his ordinary blackjack wager. These wagers are:
The “17 Bet.” This wager wins if the dealer busts, is a push if the dealer gets a total of 17, otherwise the player loses. A winning wager is paid 3-to-2.
The “18 Bet.” This wager wins if the dealer busts or has a final total of 17, is a push if the dealer gets a total of 18, otherwise the player loses. A winning wager is paid 1-to-1.
The “19 Bet.” This wager wins if the dealer busts or has a final total of 17 or 18, is a push if the dealer gets a total of 19, otherwise the player loses. A winning wager is paid 1-to-2."
So I read on another site that it's basically the "18 bet" but the 17 and 19 added. Apparently the 18 bet has been looked at is not dramatically vulnerable to card counting but then someone said this "The vulnerability of Pick ‘Em Blackjack is exacerbated if, as its literature indicates, players can make large wagers on these side bets and/or not play the main blackjack wagers at all." So this seems to be the case where I am; my question is how does being able to play the side bet without the main bet change the side bet vulnerability to card counting?

My work shows the profit from this bet, ignoring the main blackjack bet.

Pick'em Blackjack just went live at my Casino two days ago. The main bet is required to play, but only at the table minimum. Someone could place $5 on the main bet and $245 on 19 if they so chose on a $250 max table.

If you have the bet on a two-deck game, expect some AP action.Quote: Zcore13Pick'em Blackjack just went live at my Casino two days ago. The main bet is required to play, but only at the table minimum. Someone could place $5 on the main bet and $245 on 19 if they so chose on a $250 max table.
